Blast from the past…….. Here’s a throwback Thursday that was definitely a memorable job!! We were asked by our friends at Greenspan Projects Ltd to help with the electrical installation at Zip World in Wales, and here’s why it was different…… They were building a crazy golf course inside a disused mine, inside the mountain!! Tell me how many of them you have worked on, it was a world first, and the temperatures down there were a cool 7 degrees! Just to get to the site the engineers had to walk down thousands of steps. We installed containment, power, and lighting, and it was a great job to be involved in. 5 lessons I’ve learnt recently……. We’ve had a tough few months in buisness, but looking back and having some breathing space, I’ve realised: 1. Resilience is Key: Tough times sharpen resilience. I’ve learned that persistence through challenges often leads to the most valuable growth, both personally and professionally. 2. Adaptability is Non-Negotiable: Business environments change rapidly, and the ability to pivot quickly and effectively is crucial. The last three months have taught me the importance of staying flexible and open to new strategies. 3. Value of a Strong Network: During challenging periods, the importance of building and maintaining a solid support network becomes crystal clear. Reaching out and leaning on trusted connections has been a game-changer and got me through the tough times. 4. Mindset Matters: A positive, solutions-focused mindset can be the difference between thriving and just surviving. These past months have shown me the importance of mental toughness in navigating adversity. 5. Every Challenge is an Opportunity: The hardest moments often come with hidden opportunities. I’ve learnt to view setbacks as lessons, and each obstacle as a chance to improve and innovate. And one more thing to even it off……. NEVER sacrifice family time for work, no matter what, family is the most important thing to keep you grounded and remind you of why you work so hard! Some exciting news……. After a great weekend with the family and nice day off today, I’m looking forward to the week ahead. We have just completed, as of last night, a 7 day night shift installation at a large manufacturing plant in Stockport. The guys have worked tirelessly to get that one over the line! There are a total of 27 new jobs booked in for this week, and 10 new site visits for prospective new works. Our social housing contract continues to move forward, with the client so happy with the service that they have realeased a further 50 properties to service. And, to top it off, we have secured a £50k project starting on the 18th for one of our teams which will take them well into October. I’ve added some photos of a lighting install we did last week at a church in Manchester which I didn’t get chance to post about. We upgraded all the old flurescent lights to new LED fittings, and the space is now adequately lit as the dark nights are closing in! Hope you all have a productive week ahead too!! Throwback Thursday!! Here’s a little glance at a previous job we completed way back in 2023, which feels like a lifetime ago!! The client had purchased some land with an old dilapidated bungalow on it and transformed it into this beautiful, modern family home. We installed everything from lighting and power, to security systems, door access and media. This job ran for approximately 1 year and there were a lot of changes to the initial design as the project progressed. We were happy to work with the client to give them the house of their dreams and the finish inside was to a very high standard. There’s no better feeling than…….. Making a connection with a new client who’s in need and being able to deliver for them! We got a phone call 3 weeks ago from a lift company who had been let down massively on the installation of a 3 phase isolator needed for a new lift that was being installed at the Premier Inn, Manchester City Centre. Within 3 hours of getting the phone call we had gone out to site, assessed the requirements of the job, and had a quote sent to them. This all happened on a Friday, so it was all hands on deck. The quote was accepted the same day and the job booked in for the following week, and completed exactly when we said it would be.
