We have just completed our latest funding round, raising £2m in growth capital from investors including England footballers Callum Wilson and Tammy Abraham and Premier League footballer Marcus Tavernier. As the largest and only truly national padel business, with 21 venues across the UK, we were valued at £27m. Our Chairman, Jim McMahon said: “We’ve worked really hard to become a profitable business, something not many of our competitors can claim, and are focussed on ensuring consistent high utilisation of all our courts by building thriving padel communities. Despite the rapid expansion of padel in the UK, we still see plenty of opportunity for carefully calculated growth and are aiming to open at 10-15 more venues in the next 12 months.” “We’re also proud to have invested in training over 100 coaches through our coaching pathway this year, which is run in partnership with the world’s leading padel coaching operator Padelmba. The provision of a properly trained coaching workforce is an absolutely essential part of establishing a new sport, and we are the only UK operator currently doing this at scale”. Two of the UK’s leading sports facility operators – Game4Padel and GOALS – have announced a partnership which will see a nationwide roll out of padel facilities. Game4Padel CEO, Michael Gradon, told The Padel Paper: “It’s important that we promote padel to more than just a tennis and squash-playing audience. We emphasise that padel is a sport for people who play football, rugby and indeed no sport whatsoever. Football is the religion in our country, and saying to people who play football, ‘Padel is for you.’ is something I’m very passionate about.” https://lnkd.in/eYTqap5C

It was great to host Sky at our new courts in Brighton & Hove, Hove Beach Park. We were delighted to welcome Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club manager Fabian Huerzeler, chief executive Paul Barber OBE and legend-turned-coach Bobby Zamora to play the inaugural match on the courts with Sky presenter Jamie Redknapp. The courts are due to open officially on 2nd December and will be a great addition to the city where there is already an established padel community from our courts at Withdean. #padel #padeltennis Chris Nightingale https://lnkd.in/ehzYpbAb
