A major new study from Cancer Research UK (CRUK) shows smoking rates have fallen quicker in the north of England, where dedicated regional tobacco control programmes - like our client Fresh in the North East - have been largely concentrated compared to other regions. It's been fantastic to work with them and their partners for the last 14 years to help reduce health inequalities in our region. There is still a lot of work to do to achieve a "Smokefree 2030” and reduce smoking down to 5% or less, but it's great to see the progress Fresh have made be recognised. 🤩 A shout out from Boyzlife from our fundraising work with our friends Generator Studios raising funds for The Bubble Foundation UK.
Back in September, our tenants took part in a huge fundraising challenge for The Bubble Foundation UK, a local charity working to save lives of babies born with life-threatening immune conditions. President of the charity Brian McFadden and bandmate Keith Duffy were in the city at the weekend, for their Boyzlife gig at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music and they stopped by the ‘bubble’ ward at the Great North Children’s Hospital. While they were there, they recorded a special message for our tenants who each walked over 300,000 steps and raised thousands of pounds to support the charity.
