🌍 Introducing the Net Zero and Renewables Centre! 🌱 We're excited to announce Gasway's partnership with Colchester Institute to launch the region's first Net Zero and Renewables Centre at their Sheepen Road campus! This state-of-the-art facility will train future engineers in cutting-edge technologies like air-source heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging points. Our Operations Director, Kevin Bull, highlighted our 15 years of expertise with renewables through Blueflame, and the ongoing demand for skilled engineers. With support from Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe, Climate Solutions and Worcester Bosch, who donated essential equipment, this centre is set to become a key training hub for the region. 📢 We are proud to share that IGEM (Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers) has featured our very own Mark, Head of Technical Compliance at Gasway Services Ltd, in their case study series. This article highlights Mark's impressive journey and significant contributions to the gas industry. Mark's career began in 1986 as an apprentice, gaining qualifications and a wealth of experience in various roles, from working at the Bacton Gas Terminal to running his own business. He later transitioned to teaching, inspiring and training the next generation of engineers. In his current role at Gasway, Mark provides essential technical leadership, ensuring we meet all regulatory and legislative requirements. He also spearheads our technical training agenda and represents Gasway on IGEM’s Large Business Forum. With IGEM’s support recently, Mark achieved the prestigious Engineering Technician (EngTech) status. Mark’s dedication to gas safety, professional development, and the training of apprentices is commendable. He emphasizes the importance of staying updated with industry changes and advocates for greater government support in apprenticeships to support the energy transition. We've signed the Armed Forces Covenant, reaffirming our commitment to the armed forces community and pledging to treat current and former members of the armed forces, and their families, fairly. Lisa Collen, our director of people and culture, signed the covenant at the Royal Norfolk Show, along with Group Captain Fred Wigglesworth, Station Commander at RAF Marham. Lisa said: “We are honoured to support our servicepeople and their families through the Armed Forces Covenant, especially in relation to jobs and careers beyond their service to the country. This covenant is more than a commitment.
