Ten new social rent homes have replaced a derelict garage site in the east Suffolk town of Leiston.   Our new development at South Close, built by contractor Marfleet and Blyth Limited consists of six wheelchair-accessible, one-bedroom bungalows and four two-bedroom houses.   Stephen Jones, one of our Senior Project Manager's said he was delighted with the new homes, which were all occupied shortly after the project finished in September.   Steve said: “This has been a fantastic transformation. The garages previously here had been built in the 1950s, but hadn’t been used since 2011". Some of our sales, aftercare and delivery team recently undertook some snagging and handover training with NHBC. The team headed to one of our developments and went into a number of homes each at a different build stage to view the quality of the homes, take photos and assess the work carried out so far. The training provided upskilling for the team and helped increase their knowledge on snagging standards and ensuring consistent quality of the delivery of our homes between the teams. It was a highly productive day and extremely beneficial to all those that attended. Gaining knowledge on how NHBC inspect properties, score them, sign them off, and how they can assist when our customers have moved into their Flagship home. New land secured! Flagship Homes is excited to announce that our pre-construction team has successfully completed the purchase of land at Coast Road, Bacton. This development will bring 47 new affordable homes to the village of Bacton in North Norfolk. Of these homes, 28 will be provided for affordable rent and 19 will be available for shared ownership. We’d like to extend special thanks to John Long for the dedicated work with the local authority to secure planning approval, and to Howes Percival and Rossi Long Consulting for their valuable support in bringing this project together. Recently, one of our Delivery Project Manager's Stephen Jones met with our Arboriculture Operations Manager, Dan Curtis at our all-affordable scheme, Picture House Green, Leiston. At Picture House Green, there is a wonderful area of public open space with a large amount of protected oak trees which we are maintaining and looking after, with the help on site from our contractor Lovell Partnerships Ltd. This was a great opportunity to take advantage of our colleagues at Flagship Services, one of the brilliant teams within Flagship_Group which are available to assist us.
