World Menopause Day happens each year on 18th October. It was established to raise awareness of the menopause and improve the experience of women around the world. This year at Gear4music we are sharing lots of useful support resources across our organisation to support more open conversations. This includes some fantastic resources from The Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Menopause Workplace Pledge Toolkit. Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) also now offers tailored Cognitive Behavioural Therapy solutions specifically for people experiencing menopause symptoms. We continue our ongoing commitment to: 1. Recognize that the menopause is a workplace issue and that women need support. 2. Talk openly, positively, and respectfully about the menopause. 3. Actively support and inform employees affected by the menopause.

On World Mental Health Day, let’s all come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters. World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October. Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs. So, on World Mental Health Day and beyond it, why not check in with your friends, family, peers, or colleagues? At Gear4music we are encouraging more conversations within the workplace. Taking the time to listen to each other, having a brew or a walk out in the fresh air and talking to someone at work can really make a difference – whether that is a colleague, line manager, or one of our many qualified Mental Health First Aiders across the business. #WorldMentalHealthDay

On Friday 27th September our teams hosted multiple Macmillan Bake Sales across our UK sites to raise money for cancer support.   Donations from thousands of Coffee Mornings, big and small, help raise vital funds to support the 3 million people in the UK living with cancer, from the moment they are diagnosed, throughout treatment and beyond. A huge thank you to everyone that joined in with baking, bringing and eating cakes! 🧁🍰😋

This morning we had the pleasure of welcoming Elliot Lukies from #ANDYSMANCLUB onsite to our York Showroom & Distribution Center to talk to a group of our Mental Health First Aiders about suicide prevention and the external support they can offer.
