First series of trials on our pilot continuous pyrolysis furnace for carbon fibre recycling completed. Over the last couple of months, we've successfully demonstrated the technology we're patenting to recover high quality carbon fibres from automotive, wind energy, hydrogen tank and aerospace CFRP waste. Even better, we've already incorporated these fibres into our recycled carbon fibre nonwovens and our customers have used these to make new CFRP parts. We're now moving the pilot furnace to our new R&D facility, where we'll continue trials, and can't wait to see this technology scaled up on the production line in 2025. #gen2carbon, #carbonfibrerecycling,#circulareconomy

Very impressive worked presented at the Structural Power Workshop organised by Emile Greenhalgh of Imperial College at the Royal Academy of Engineering yesterday. Advances in the use of carbon fibre based composites to provide "weightless" or "volumeless" energy storage give a pathway towards multifunctional structures that help us become more resource efficient. Good to see that the importance of sustainability and recyclability was also recognised. #structuralpower, #gen2carbon, #resourceefficiency, #imperialcollege
