    𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 With the latest budget news, here are the main points likely to impact frontline businesses: 1️⃣ 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: National Living Wage will increase — from £11.44 to £12.21 in April 2025 for those 21+. This is a 6.7% increase that raises payroll costs in a sector where many employees work on an hourly basis. 2️⃣ 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗜𝗖 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: Employer National Insurance Contributions will rise by 1.2 points to 15%, and the threshold for paying NICs drops from £9,100 to £5,000.  3️⃣ 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀: From April 2025, the business rates relief will decrease from 75% to 45%, with a maximum relief of £110,000 available to claim. The government also mentioned a review with deeper reforms being postponed to 2026-2027. 𝗜𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘆, 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. Working on a strategy where main growth levers - people and productivity - are optimised to balance the increase in operational costs may be the secret to success.
