Hello new brand! It’s been 7 months in the making and as a creative, it’s been a complete pleasure to develop with the team. I developed our previous nighttime theme over three years ago. It felt right at the time, and it did its job getting us to this stage. As a start up, i had zero budget, no creative support and so I had to rely on what my capabilities could achieve. I chose a lonely looking astronaut, where its gender, race, age and cultural identity was unknown, a brand trick because I had no budget for models. I chose beautiful night skies and auroras, that brought a feeling of vast calmness, the feeling of being on our own in what we do, with rugged landscapes representing the challenges we faced as a start up. This brand was cool, calm and curious. Now we are out of our R&D days, and heading towards commercialisation, the brand simply couldn’t do that job anymore, but some of it still resonates… the peaceful, calmer approach, the vast seas, beaches and landscapes still echo some of the imagery that represented Petalite over the previous years. Our new imagery is thoughtful, its freeing, it genuine and beautiful, with birds and new dawn sunshine replacing the night. A big thank you to Kate Beaumont and Ben Huggon for your support, and the rather fabulous brand agency Curious, and web agency Giant Digital | B Corp who took the time to listen to us and understand our place in the world of EV charging. #evcharging #newbrand
