We can't wait to welcome Dave Hughes and the novosound team to our special #Glasgow850 edition of Art of Possible - From Shipyards to Satellites as we explore how the city region's history of invention fuels its ambitions for the future. On 22nd May, Dave will be a guest speaker at the WeDO Scotland Breakfast Event in Glasgow, sharing insights into his journey and the groundbreaking work happening at novosound. To support greater diversity in entrepreneurship, Dave is offering two free tickets to non-male founders or businesspeople who’d like to attend. Interested? Drop him a message to apply!
🎙️Come for the wind-induced sound check, stay for the opportunity to get a ticket to an event. So, a quick update on a couple of events I’m involved in over the next couple of months here in Scotland. First, I’m taking part in From Shipyards to Satellites, an event marking Glasgow’s 850th anniversary. It’s on Tuesday 25th March at the Glasgow Science Centre as part of Can Do Scotland’s Art if Possible. The event is now sold out, but there is a waiting list available if you’d still like to attend. Second, I’ll be the guest speaker at the WeDO Scotland Breakfast Event in Glasgow on the 22nd of May. I’ll be sharing a bit about my journey and the work we’re doing at novosound I’m giving away two tickets to this event for non-male founders or businesspeople who’d like to come along. I recognise that early morning events can be difficult around childcare, and that this often disproportionately affects non-male founders. I’ll do my best to continue this approach at any future speaking events that are held in the evenings or afternoons too. Drop me a message if you’re interested, and hope to see some of you there.

🌍 A University of Strathclyde study reveals that natural CO2 absorption is shrinking, reducing the Earth's ability to offset rising emissions. While sequestration peaked in 2008, it is now declining by 0.25% per year, making the fight against climate change even harder 📊 Key Findings: 🔹 CO2 absorption grew 0.8% per year in the 1960s but is now falling. 🔹 If this trend continues, sequestration could halve in 250 years. 🔹 Urgent action is needed—stopping deforestation, rewilding landscapes, and embracing a circular economy can help reverse the decline. 📍 University of Strathclyde 🔬 Prof. James Curran, Dr. Sam Curran 👇 Learn more https://lnkd.in/eZmmpwf6 #ClimateChange #CarbonSequestration #CO2Reduction #Sustainability #GlobalWarming
