The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has recently ramped up inspections on heat soak testing for toughened glass, marking a significant development for our industry. These inspections cover full production processes, including factory production controls (FPCs), Declarations of Performance (DoP) and CE/UKCA compliance - helping to uphold safety and consumer confidence. 👷 The GGF is working closely with OPSS to support these efforts, ensuring high industry standards. Many members of the GGF community have already been inspected and we’re seeing interest from non-members too, which shows that the message is reaching a wide audience. The GGF also offers a calibration service for heat soak ovens through GGF Consultancy. Calibration of the heat soak oven in accordance with BS EN 14179 is mandatory and ensures the correct operation of the heat soak process. We have recently informed the GGF community of the Reforms to the Energy Performance of Buildings Regime consultation and as the close date fast approaches, we are encouraging all Members to review the consultation and respond as soon as possible.
