Gloucestershire is making headway in realising our vision to establish a diverse range of local children’s homes. Our first two homes will open over the next few weeks, and we are now looking to recruit three Team Leaders who, along with the Deputy Manager, will make up the management team within our largest home, Kingsholm House. This home will support young people from age 13 upwards who require a longer period in a children’s home, with support to develop the skills they will need to successfully move as a care leaver, into the community. 🎉 World Social Work Day: Embracing Intersectionality through Connection and Solidarity 🌍 Our Adult Social Care team recently celebrated World Social Work Day. The event delved into the concept of intersectionality, the pivotal role of Social Work, and the power of connection and solidarity in embracing intersectionality. Event highlights included: 🌟 Representation from employee networks such as the Black Workers Network, Prism, and the Disability Network. 💬 Insights from employee networks, the Community Engagement Team, and other colleagues who courageously shared their experiences of having intersecting identities. 🤝 An opportunity to engage with employee networks, including the Dignity at Work network. 🍽️ Enjoyed delicious food that brought us together and fostered community spirit. 🎶 We were honoured to have the Black Workers Network Wellbeing Choir join us to teach a song, adding a harmonious touch to our celebration.
