  • “To meet the UK’s climate change targets, the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) estimates that roughly two homes need to be retrofitted every minute between now and 2050. This is equivalent to retrofitting almost all of the UK’s 29 million homes.” This morning, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero announced the recipients of the £1.2 billion Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (Wave 3), supporting: ✅ 17 Strategic Partnership projects ✅ 127 Challenge Fund projects Working closely with housing associations and organisations across London and the South, we see firsthand how crucial funding is for developing the talent pipelines needed to drive home decarbonisation. It’s great to see this investment supporting the growth of such a vital sector. Congratulations to all the local authorities and social housing organisations that have secured funding. To find out more about our work in green skills and unlocking talent pipelines, get in touch with our Net Zero Carers Accelerator Lead: Luke McCarthy. #netzero #warmhomes #funding #london #goodpeople https://lnkd.in/eacAxyms

  • “Companies need to be more open when hiring. Candidates come from different backgrounds, ages etc. They need to upgrade their recruitment systems and look at whether the candidate has the right skills for the job. The openness needs to come from the candidate too, I never thought I would get a job in security and now I am here”. A few weeks ago we hosted a recruitment day in partnership with Millwall Community Trust and Southwark Works focusing on Security Officers and Stewards. As part of National Careers Week, Fernando—who successfully secured a new job—kindly shared his insights with our team on how employers can attract and retain talent more effectively. • "Too many people say they have applied for 200 jobs and have only received 10 replies. My immediate question is: Have you re-written your CV 200 times? They usually say no—in which case, they haven’t really applied; they’ve just submitted it. CVs need to be personalised, succinct, and focused from top to bottom." As part of National Careers Week, we spoke to John Scarborough from the Millwall Community Trust to hear his insights on what makes a great CV. A big thank you to John for sharing his valuable insights! Check out the video below and feel free to share it with your network. 👇 Holly Krumins Gemma Fox BSc #NationalCareersWeek #employment #goodpeople #millwall #cv
