Making access to safe and sustainable period care a basic right.

About us

Everyone should have access to safe and sustainable period products - without exception and without compromise. At Grace & Green, we combine ethical and innovative products with empowering period education, so that all people can navigate life with unwavering confidence and dignity. We show up for every body. Our Founder, Fran, spent over a decade in the water and sanitation sector. Having witnessed firsthand how conventional period products impact our water systems and the environment, she knew that a solution had to be found. After three years of research and product development, Grace & Green was launched. Grace & Green products are made from organic bamboo and cotton, making them free from pesticides, dyes, bleaches, and other toxic chemicals. All of our products are certified organic and either reusable or biodegradable. Innovation is taking us even further; we constantly strive for growth and look for new ways to work with what’s available to us, as provided by nature.

Menstrual pain is a valid reason to take time off, period. But the truth is, many employees feel like they can't be honest about being in pain during their period. In fact, 45% of menstruators don’t tell their managers when they need to miss work because they’re afraid it’ll be dismissed as "no big deal." Workplaces need to step up and create a safe space where people can express how they’re feeling without fear of being judged or brushed off. No one should have to come up with a “better” excuse to leave work when they’re unwell and feeling sick should be enough of a reason to be allowed to work remotely.

A powerful evening of periods, health and climate justice. The Grace & Green team had the amazing opportunity to join an inspiring event for Environmenstrual Week, hosted by Wen (Women's Environmental Network). We showcased our range of organic and reusable period products and shared our mission for period equity and dignity for all. We also had the opportunity to listen to an eye-opening panel discussion on period equity. One of the highlights was learning from Hon. VERGE Tania about an incredible initiative in Catalonia, where the government has funded reusable period products for all menstruating people, showcasing how such change is possible on a larger scale. The discussion also covered the hidden health risks associated with harmful chemicals in period care products and tackling period poverty, with insights from notable guest speakers including Natalie Bennett , Ms (Dr) Karen Joash and Dr Maria Tomlinson

Head of Brand Marketing at Grace & Green🩸 Sustainable periods / Making access to menstrual products a basic right.

On the road, spreading the word on period equity 🎤 It’s been a whirlwind couple of months for Grace & Green, packed with incredible events and opportunities to promote sustainable periods and dignity for all. My highlights: 🌱 Planet Organic: We launched across all Planet Organic Ltd stores, with the team sampling at nine locations during Organic September. Really proud seeing our stunning new packaging on shelf for the first time! 🐎 Lloyds Banking Group: I joined their sustainability event, sharing reusable options while learning about the bank's efforts in sustainability. Just 5% of people with periods have taken the plunge into reusables so events like this are essential to promoting a sustainable future. 🌍 HSBC: At their sustainability fair, we promoted eco-friendly alternatives for everyday products. 🚀 Breaking Boundaries: I had the privilege to speak at Gather Round , discussing how breaking period stigma can drive societal change. 🥋 University of Cambridge Sports Fair: Launched our new on-the-go period kits, perfect for teams needing accessible period care at matches. Also I discovered two new sports I had never even heard of, pls look up kabaddi if you don't know it. 👩💻Webinars: Connecting and sharing experiences with 50+ clients about living (and working) with chronic menstrual conditions and how they can support their employees with Hannah Jones. 🧘♀️ World Menopause Day: I attended two inspiring events, hearing from Hazel Hayden from Bristol Menopause at both Clockwise Offices and Clifton College. There’s so much more to come! Next up, an exciting panel talk tonight at Amnesty International UK with the Women's Environmental Network (WEN), plus I will be hosting a training session for University College Birmingham tomorrow. TLDR: I am tired but thankful that G&G is getting so much fab recognition ✨

Menstrual health is so much more than a hashtag. It’s great to see people talking about menstrual health, but let’s be honest, if we were truly having authentic conversations about it (and putting the right amount of research and funding behind it), we wouldn’t need these awareness days in the first place. Menstrual health isn’t something to cross off your to-do list or slap a hashtag on for a bit of engagement, it’s a real issue impacting millions of people every single day. Though these awareness days are now behind us, let’s be sure to use these next year to push for real change – not just conversations, but investment, research and solutions that truly make a difference.
