Exciting news as we say goodbye to our colleague, Chris Russell, who is off to Shanghai for the vessel installation of the latest NanoDeck Mini. The NanoDeck Mini is designed to provide a Trial Without Risk. Adopting new technology can be intimidating, especially with substantial financial implications. NanoDeck Mini addresses this by allowing you to trial the technology at a substantially reduced cost compared to full installation. This affordable option enables you to experience the system's advantages before committing to a larger investment. For more information, visit: https://lnkd.in/eUm5yKQb 🚢 #NanoDeckMini

  • Newcastle is an amazing place to engage and collaborate with the maritime industry Derek McGlashan. The Port of Tyne innovation hub 2050 have been incredibility supportive in terms of testing, on shore and off shore locations and introductions to vessel owners and ports around the world. Thank you also for the mention. 🙂 👍

As the sun set on Newcastle I left the RenewableUK Ports and Vessels Conference yesterday. As I reflected on the day there were a few things that I mulled over on my drive home: 1. Decades on, we are still talking about the 'chicken and egg' scenario of port investment. Thre are some who continue to say ports just need to invest in facilities. Whilst ports increasingly have a better understanding of the wants (and realistic needs) to support the offshore renewables industry, it all boils down to money. Lenders and investors (understandably) want to see a realistic case that their funds will be paid back, with interest. Crudely, that means signing contracts. 2. There are lots of initiatives out there aimed are decarbonising ports and shipping and other environmental benefits. Whether PULCEA LTD's novel marine noise shield, BPP-Tech | Cables | Renewables' on-board carbon capture work, Apollo's Palm Charger, plug and socket for connecting ships to wind turbines or Bibby Marine 's electric offshore support vessel, and more. 3. There are some amazing stories, facts and figures and ambition out there, rather than talk about it - Port of Cromarty Firth's work with Sarens for the Moray West Offshore Windfarm, Fraserburgh Harbour's ambitious plans, North Star's vessel growth and projections to 2040. 4. There are existing leaders in Oil and Gas that supply services today that will be in ever greater demand: did you know that Montrose Port Authority is Europe's largest Anchor and mooring storage port? The demand for such storage is set to increase. It is not all about #construction and #integration, there are opportunities in #operations and #maintenance and #ancillary #support services as well - they all need ports and vessels. 5. I appreciated the opportunity to present on ELIRE Group's innovative floating infrastructure solutions, notably the ELIRE Infra SmartHubs, reducing the cappex requirements and lower environmental impact. And all this took place on the day that Forth Ports Limited announced a further significant investment in the Port of Leith for #OffshoreWind. Given the City Bypass was shut last night, I ended up passing the port. Of course this is the tip of the iceberg, there are so many others working in this space, GRAFMARINE Ltd. (check out their announcement today), Marine Zero and all the others I have not mentioned. https://lnkd.in/e3_Y-cPq #ExcitingTimes #OnTheVergeOfSomethingSpecial #PortDecarbonisation #VesselDecarbonisation #SustainableMaritime #SustainableRenewables
