⁉️ #DidYouKnow - 18% of heat is lost through windows in an uninsulated house. 🚪Fitting draught proofing around all the windows and doors in a typical home can save around £40 in energy bills each year 💷 🔥 Or you can also reduce heat loss by installing thermal curtains or add thermal material to your curtains. 🎯 This is one of the measures our #GreenDoctors can install during a free home visit through the H&F Healthy Home scheme. You might be eligible, make an enquiry now! https://lnkd.in/eV6JTNiP
About us
Groundwork London works with communities across the capital to transform their lives and the places they live. We have been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 25 years, and today we have a simple mission: to create better places, improve people’s prospects, and promote greener living and working. We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny, and no-one is held back by their background or circumstances. This vision drives the work that we do. Each year we deliver hundreds of innovative projects across London, tackling the biggest issues facing our communities. With the support of our funders and partners across the public, private, and voluntary sector, and within the communities themselves, we can create real and lasting, positive change. We empower people to engage in local decision-making and voluntary action to improve their communities. We make neighbourhoods greener and more resilient to the impact of climate change and the increasing demands of a growing population. We support long-term unemployed individuals in finding work. We help young people get back into education and training, and we advise residents and businesses how to live more sustainably and reduce their waste, energy, and water use.

We made it! It's February already, spring is getting closer 🌸 and brighter days are, literally, before us 🌤️ This time of the year is also when Groundwork London sets its ambitions for the year ahead by reflecting on the impact of the past year as well as by building its business planning for 2025-26. So we figured it is not too late to celebrate, in image, the wonderful work that Groundworkers achieved last year; as a way to inspire us for the months to come. Enjoy! #2024wrap #groundworklondonimpact #greenerlondon #fairerlondon #

Groundwork London reposted this
Working on our charity committee to support Groundwork London has been a highlight over the last couple of years. We're raring to go in 2025 and are looking forward to creating more opportunities to support their important work. Grosvenor #GreenerFutures #SustainableCommunities #InclusiveGrowth #PeopleAndPlanetPositive
72 Westminster residents have now secured waged placements through Groundwork London’s Westminster Wheels and Green Team programmes. Funded by our Greener Futures initiative and in partnership with Westminster City Council, these placements are specifically for individuals furthest from the job market. Many have gone on to secure long-term employment, giving a second life to over 3,000 bikes and contributing to the transformation of 13 hectares of green space. We’ve seen first-hand the difference these initiatives make, and by 2025, we plan to invest £1.5m in projects that create green jobs and skills in the communities where they are needed most. James Raynor, CEO of our UK Property business, and Councillor Geoffrey Barraclough recently joined current and former trainees at a graduation and celebration event to mark their achievements. Congratulations to all trainees! #GreenerFutures #SustainableCommunities #InclusiveGrowth #PeopleAndPlanetPositive

Healthy self-image, especially in young minds, is so important. We're really glad to help with wonderful initiatives like Hero Self, who are working directly with schools and educational leaders in Greenwich. Read on to see how your business or charity can get involved!
We cannot believe it has been a week since we officially launched Hero Self at Bannockburn Primary School, the place where it all started! Joined by educational leaders from across the Royal Borough of Greenwich, as well as the Mayor Councillor Jit Ranabhat, our founder Tonya French explained the journey we have undertaken with Hero Self and our future plans. We also met first hand several of the pupils who’ve benefitted from our courses, telling everyone about their confidence increasing and giving an insight into some of what we do. After our success at Bannockburn we are now rolling out to ten schools across the Borough to help our young people, teaching our creative programmes to help children boost their self esteem, manage their emotions and develop essential life skills. Mental health, especially amongst young people, is an ever increasing issue in our society and if we can treat these issues early on then we can prevent far more serious problems later in life. Through our creative coaching techniques we make personal development fun, accessible and impactful. Teachers of some of the pupils who’ve benefited from our courses told of the difference they’d seen in their students, including huge increases in reading levels, grade attainment and social skills. If your business or charity is passionate about improving children’s mental health we’d love your support. Your donation helps us to deliver Life Changing programmes that build confidence, resilience and emotional well-being. Even small individual donations can make a big difference.
