About us

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠? Growth is everywhere, and Growth Flag can help you find it. Growth Flag is a new, first-of-its-kind, online tool designed with policy makers, commissioners, business decision makers and analysts in mind. It pulls live data from a comprehensive dataset - that is easily analysed by the user - to instantly present clear visuals and downloadable data. This quickly shows where growth potential exists in individual businesses across the UK. The system is objective and evidence based, not driven by pre-disposed assumptions as to where growth should take place. You can analyse it by postcode, town, local or combined authority, sector or type of business. It reveals that growth takes place where you may not expect it. 𝐖𝐡𝐨'𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭? Growth Flag has been developed by Red Flag Alert, a data intelligence platform, and the Growth Company, a social enterprise with 30+ years’ experience of delivering economic and business growth. 𝐖𝐡𝐨'𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫? Public sector organisations such as Local and Combined Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), as well as colleges and universities can use the platform to understand their local economy and support sectors that have the highest growth potential. Private sector businesses can use it to understand emerging markets and target relevant sales and marketing activity. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 Growth Flag takes comprehensive firm-level data sets that are constantly updated to create a Growth Potential Score. This score is then analysable at different geographic levels and by sector, size and type of business, via a user-friendly, online platform. The analysis is downloadable for onward use by research and delivery colleagues.

Maximising growth through data & analytics | Identify high growth companies | Growth is everywhere, Growth Flag helps you find it

✨The Enterprise Research Centre (UK) Small Business Britain Conference 2024 ✨ We heard from some incredible speakers and panel discussions from the likes of Stephen Roper, Mark Hart, Robert Wapshott, Richard Bearman, Jun Du, Cathy Keenan and others, who are pushing the dial on the importance of evidence based policy and support for small businesses across the UK. Karen Bonner made an incredibly important point - “There’s no such thing as high growth firms, only high growth episodes” - which is why understanding and finding businesses at the right time in their journey is so vital. Using Growth Flag data enables you to understand and identify which businesses have the highest potential to grow before their growth episodes happen, facilitating targeted policy, investment and business support to drive long term sustainable growth. #smallbizbritain24 #policy #economicdevelopment

An energising day yesterday at The Shard in London catching up with clients and discussing the key challenges facing small businesses across the UK. A highly thought-provoking conference with the Enterprise Research Centre (UK), looking into what works in supporting businesses and the continuing conundrums in the space. Great to hear the latest insights shaping policy in the UK and Europe, and to be supporting researchers delving into the UK's productivity puzzle further through Growth Flag. Some fantastic discussions and focus, ahead of more work with partners in developing evidence-driven policy and support. #smallbusiness #economicdevelopment
