🔓 How can policy and regulation unlock Billions for Impact in Belgium? A sustainable future for Belgium that meets the SDGs by 2030 requires billions of euros annually in investment. The latest report from Impact Finance Belgium (IFB), our National Partner, presents four proposals alongside concrete pilot schemes to unlock private capital and catalyse Belgium's green and inclusive transition. 🔑 Proposals: 1️⃣ See state funds to co-finance projects with positive environmental and social impact. This could unlock €2.0-2.8 billion in private capital for critical areas like health, education, and sustainable infrastructure. 2️⃣ Create retail impact funds structure, making sustainable investment opportunities accessible to all 3️⃣ Adapt pension plans to include sustainable and impact investment options, modelled after international successes, this could channel at least €400 million towards scaling societal benefits. 4️⃣ Align public spending with sustainability goals, by opening the way for more green bonds and sustainable financing practices, potentially generating an additional €800 million.
