Room Rates on the Rise: Key Business Travel Cities See YOY Increases in Q2 2024 Q2 2024 saw ‘moderate’ room rate increases in key business travel cities around the globe, according to a new report published in Business Travel News Europe. Some key data points: prices shown are USD: • Globally, 3.6 per cent increase YOY, with an average room rate of $189 • London up 7.5 per cent YOY, with the average room rate at $330 • New York is up 5 per cent YOY, with an average room rate of $432 • Europe's average room rate $176 • International travellers booked an average of 20.75 days before travelling, up from 18.75 days in 2023 • Domestic travellers booked an average of 15 days before travelling, up from 12.2 days in 2023 Booking trends will continue to evolve as business travel finds its way in a hybrid-working world. For hoteliers to succeed, being agile and keeping on track of your guests’ booking behaviour will help you make strategic decisions that will drive your business forward in 2025 and beyond.
