What a pleasure and privilege to host the extraordinary Liz McConaghy last week at our HQ 💥 AKA 'Chinook Crew Chick', Liz told our rapt audience about her astounding career flying with the #RAF #Chinook Fleet. The youngest aircrew member to deploy to Iraq and the only female crew on the Chinook wing for four years, Liz completed two deployments to Iraq and ten to Afghanistan, including flying ambulance. After leaving the service, Liz’s struggles with her mental health following her wartime experiences took her to the brink. Her motivational talk inspired everyone at the event. Ten teams battled it out in The Hayward and Green charity cricket tournament last Friday at the picturesque Preston Nomads Cricket ground in Fulking, nestled under The South Downs. It was a wonderful event, well organised and supported by different teams from the aviation industry. We were bowled over by the support and the phenomenal amount of just under £20k was raised which will make a significant difference to our charity, enabling us to provide some wonderful social activities and trips out for children and adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, as well as valuable respite for their families. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Hayward and Green, Preston Nomads and to all those who helped with the organisation, competed and supported, as well as the generous donations of auction and raffle prizes.
