What makes a commercially viable opportunity? Your innovation should: 🎯 solve a problem/fill an unmet need 🎯 be scalable across the NHS/market 🎯 be protectable through registered or unregistered IP rights 🎯 have a market size sufficient to deliver a return on investment 🎯 be affordable or cost-effective for healthcare budget holders 🎯 meet all the regulatory, compliance and quality standards relevant for your product or service There’s a lot to think about but that’s where our innovation team, led by Head of Innovation Karen Law, are here to help! Looks like Max Bardwell is making himself at home at the MedConnect North event. Please seek him out for conversations about how Health Tech Enterprise can work with you to support #NHS innovation and help #SMEs with commercialisation.
☕A nice relaxed start to the MedConnect North event today after a very wet and dark drive up the A1. I'm looking forward to meeting the delegates and reconnecting with people in my network. Digital Innovations hold huge potential to deliver the resilience the NHS needs to meet its current and future challenges so the theme of the conference of exploring digital Innovations with healthtech is very topical. Two talks I am particularly interested in, Harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence in Imaging, from Anna Beattie, consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist at Newcastle upon Tyne hospitals foundation NHS trust. The predicted shortage in radiology expertise and the increased demand for imaging creates a perfect storm which seemingly AI promises the potential to weather. And, The importance of statistics in setting up a clinical trial for SME companies. one question we get asked a lot at Health Tech Enterprise especially in regards to #healtheconomics is do we have enough data/evidence to adequately demonstrate our value proposition. I'm interested to see what Dr Ehsan Kharati Koopaei, Associate Professor of Statistics/data science at The Manchester Metropolitan University has to tell us about this. #digitalhealth #NHS #innovation
