HealthLumen was recently commissioned by Movember to quantify the economic impact of men’s poor health for their UK and Australian ‘Real Face of Men’s Health’ 2024 Reports.   It was found that if all preventable disease cases of the five conditions that cause the largest number of years of life lost to ill-health by men had been avoided in 2023, £9.4 billion could have been saved in the UK and AUD$10.7 billion in Australia. Further, results suggest that increasing NHS Health Check attendance rates to 75% of the eligible population in England from 2024–2040 could save the NHS £2.2 billion in total costs.  Find the key insights from the research here>> https://lnkd.in/eEQ54EmY 

Our recent genetic database analysis study on fetal and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT) conducted in partnership with Rallybio has shown that the annual number of higher-risk FNAIT pregnancies in North America and major European countries is 40% greater than previously estimated. This is also the first study to estimate the number of high-risk FNAIT pregnancies across different ethnicities, finding the highest risk in Caucasian and Hispanic White populations. https://lnkd.in/dkFsmNGX #FNAIT #genetic #raregeneticdisease #epidemiology #raredisease

Culminating from the conclusion of the global Inside CKD program in collaboration with AstraZeneca, we are delighted to report the publication of two further manuscripts in eClinicalMedicine, a Lancet journal, on the clinical and economic burden of Chronic Kidney Disease. It is projected that annual direct costs of diagnosed #CKD and #KRT will increase by 9·3%, to US $406·7 billion from 2022 to 2027, across the 31 countries and regions included in the study.
