This traditional-style cook’s table made from sturdy solid oak was created for the prep kitchen at our Hampshire Manor House project. Pre-dating the contemporary kitchen island, a cook’s table was a common feature at the centre of the kitchens of large country houses in the past and was used for food preparation, storage and as a serving point. We incorporated a Carrara marble section on the top, providing an ideal cool surface for rolling pastry and kneading dough. The wide drawers and open slatted base ensure accessible storage for pans, bowls, and crockery - keeping everything within reach during busy kitchen moments. Transforming what could be an awkward space we designed this elegant & functional ancillary area for small appliances, open storage and preparation in an alcove off a large open plan kitchen. Rather than wrapping the base cabinets around the corner which can look bulky & restrict accessibility to the storage, we simply ran them to the end wall, which we then finished with oak shelving & fluted wall panelling above & practical travertine effect porcelain below matching the worktops to provide sleek continuity. For this walk-in pantry designed for a manor house in Hampshire with Goldrich Interiors, we created the traditional half glazed screen in French polished oak with ovolo & lambs-tongue beading details to echo the style of the original period features in the property. Inside, the oak cabinetry has framed fronts with lambs-tongue moulding finished with an ivory lacquer to enhance the natural colour & grain of the wood. Traditional wall shelves painted in white & marble effect quartzite worktops with a leathered finish & ‘cove dupont’ edge profile complete the look. A Boot room where practicality meets style - Often seen as purely functional spaces for muddy boots, wet coats, and four-legged friends, a well-designed boot room can also be a beautiful and welcoming part of the home. Created in collaboration with Godrich Interiors, this boot room was designed in a traditional style with a modern twist for a beautiful country home in Hampshire. The stained oak base cabinets and bench seating provide ample storage, while the hand-painted teal blue wall cabinets and panelling complement the striking wallpaper. A large Belfast sink is perfect for flower arranging or cleaning muddy boots, while the ceramic tiled floor balances practicality with elegance. We're rounding off our ‘oak week’ with this bespoke drinks’ cabinet 🍸✨ It is Friday after all!..... We created this traditionally styled oak cabinet for the dining room of our clients’ period home in Alderley Edge. Designed to complement the room’s original curved cornicing detail, we chose to echo this classical shape in the top section of the cabinet. Below symmetrical doors and drawers offer a balance of closed and open storage with central pocket doors folding back to reveal the ‘bar area’ complete with a fluted mirror rear lining & bespoke racks for glasses above the marble-effect worktop.
