Built for Digital Marketers to manage access to ad accounts, analytics and social pages

About us

Hydra allows users to monitor and manage access permissions across the major external ad accounts, analytics and social channels from a single platform. This ‘wild west’ of access often falls outside of manual processes and automated solutions and leaves organisations open to the risk of sabotage, espionage and breach of GDPR and privacy obligations. Hydra is an efficiency tool for agencies and digital teams saving hours when onboarding new clients, team members and external suppliers. Mitigate the risk of maintaining legacy access to external social and paid channels and provide visibility to line managers, HR and IST/Risk on exactly who has access.

These instances of 'Sabotage' are our favourites, even though we do cringe! But some are far more damaging. Ex employees locking out all other access to social accounts and ad platforms or even worse, bad actors spinning up adverts for products with nose bleed daily budgets. Hacks are increasing 1000% Year On Year... read that again. https://bit.ly/hi-hydra

Nobody wants to pay £5 each month for mobile phone insurance... until you drop it in the toilet. Who gets fired when legacy access leads to brand wobbles... of course the 'delightful' employee who didn't switch accounts probably did get fired, but legacy access or lack of access control is a real problem and we're not as on top of it as we all believe in digital. I can't remember if the Burger King tweet-gate was an agency or brand employee, but it's pretty ugly. I bet you can still access ad accounts, GAs and social profiles for businesses you shouldn't. I bet ex employees and old agencies can access channels that you manage now.... We need to stop shrugging our shoulders and accepting this wild west ecosystem. If you've lost access or control of your page or ad accounts, we can't help - the phone is already in the toilet, but we can stop it happening again! Even phone insurance can't do that. We can roll our sleeves up and come with rubber gloves mind you. https://bit.ly/hi-hydra

We haven't actually been flipped off when talking to marketers who insist they have this covered. And we have spoken to hundreds of marketing and agency leaders over the last four years. However, there is a real inertia around this topic and we find it fascinating and a little terrifying.

Marketing leaders, you DO NOT NEED Hydra if: 1. You can describe the process for auditing who has access to your marketing channels, analytics, tag manager, ad accounts, social pages 2. You can describe the process for adding and removing joiners, leavers and external partners and agencies from the channels 3. You have a master admin across all the channels and you know their name 4. You are 100% confident that you are fully complying with GDPR, DORA and any other privacy legislation in the marketing channels where you collect personal data 5. You know for sure exactly who has access to your marketing channels and that no legacy access exists - and you can prove this in seconds 6. You have a proprietary platform to do all of the above, which provides useful tools for marketing and observability for IT for the marketing stack If you are not a 'YES' to 1-5 (we know 6 doesn't exist) then you probably do need Hydra. Being a 'YES' to one or two, isn't good enough. Link in the comments or click on my appointment button.

No vertical is immune to legacy access. In fact, often, the larger the organisation and the more tools they have to protect internal infrastructure, the worse the marketing eco-system is in terms of inherent risk.

Great to see Hydra coverage in Global Banking & Finance Review. DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) is going to force financial institutions to have robust processes and platforms in place to manage data in external, 3rd party platforms - including the marketing stack. Your current processes and permissions tools like PAM, IAM and SSO won't help you WITHOUT a complementary tool like Hydra in place. It's an EU piece of legislation but if you operate in the EU, you have to comply and a UK equivalent is imminent too. I don't talk about this at all in this article (link in comments) but scary, eh?

"Firstly, there is the over-reliance on SSO, PAM, and IAM platforms. Enterprises feel that these platforms deliver almost all-encompassing protection, which leads to a sense of complacency because while SSO and the others work well, they have limitations, making them incompatible with certain platforms." Hydra was built as a complementary tool to PAM and SSO. bringing the marketing eco-system into the sphere of observability for IT, and to equip marketing with the tools to instantly audit legacy access, and manage joiners and leavers in seconds.

Great coverage in Wealth & Finance... Of course, legacy access poses a massive risk in heavily regulated industries such as finance, but the impact on brand reputation is very real for any industry and for brands of any size. I bet you can tell me exactly how much revenue you would lose if your website was down for an hour... how about how much revenue you would lose if your ad account was suspended for three months? https://lnkd.in/eJHD8J97

We hear time and again from huge brands, that their IT infrastructure keeps them safe from the threats of legacy access, and we show them the gaps. For SMEs, it's even harder to implement the processes and tools to manage these risks. Hydra gives brands the tools to manage legacy access in seconds.

Great to be featured in Business Reporter. Audit who has access to your marketing channels in minutes. Remove legacy access in seconds. Manage joiners/leavers and onboard/off-board external partner access in minutes. Monitor changes to permissions and when admins are added or removed to lock-out bad actors and account hacks. https://lnkd.in/eeNEDnuk

Nice write-up in Talk Business. I built Hydra to simplify the client onboarding process for agencies, and enable them to add value back to their clients by helping the brand remove the risks that exist due to legacy access; and to spot when admins are deleted or new users are granted access to the marketing channels. We ended up with a tool for brands and agencies, for marketers and for IT. I always thought the challenge would be in building the platform. It was a challenge of course, but the real mountain, is finding out who is responsible for managing access - who gets fined and who gets fired when it goes wrong. https://lnkd.in/ec9E3AkZ
