An encouraging development in the UK’s journey towards clean energy: The UK’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has appointed eight experts with almost 200 years between them to the new Clean Power 2030 Advisory Commission. Their combined expertise and experience will accelerate the mission for clean power by 2030, driving decarbonisation and enhancing energy security. As Heat Pump Week spreads awareness about the benefits of heat pumps, there is some positive news in the UK Gov stats released today. We've now surpassed 30,000 heat pump installations this year and 250,000 certified heat pump installations to date. This is a key milestone in the tremendous effort required to achieve the UK Gov’s target to install 600,000 heat pumps per year by 2028 — a goal set as part of the UK’s broader plan to transition away from fossil fuels and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
