It was such a cosy morning as some members of staff and tenants enjoyed coffee and cake at Craven Mount in Halifax. We played a coffee quiz, interacted with each other and most importantly raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. #hortonhousing #serviceactivities
About us
Horton Housing's mission is to help people to live the best life they can through the provision of high quality housing, training, care and support. Some of our key achievements over the last year include starting a new joint venture with Bevan Healthcare CIC in the creation of the Bradford Respite & Intermediate Care Support Service (BRICSS); which provides short term accommodation to homeless people who have been discharged from hospital. Investment in a new housing management and finance system (Kypera) will help us to support staff throughout our services to focus on more client led and valued added activities. Clients made significant positive achievements and our latest survey demonstrated that 90% of clients were satisfied or very satisfied with the overall service they have received. Our annual staff survey in August showed similar results, revealing that 93% of staff believe Horton is a great place to work. We are always looking for great people to join us that can help us in our mission to transform peoples’ lives – people who want to make a difference, help improve our services and support Horton values. As an organisation where we are committed to developing and valuing our people, you can expect us to support and develop you to reach your full potential and provide you with a working environment where you are able to thrive and learn new skills. We have a strong commitment to equality and diversity and therefore seek to recruit, retain and develop the careers of people from a wide range of ethnic, cultural, religious and social backgrounds.

A well known pioneer against racial inequality and social injustice, Trevor Phillips formerly led the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) fighting against inequality that affect black communities in the housing sector. He called for reforms in the policies for housing and requested that there should be equitable housing opportunities for all tenants. We celebrate Trevor today for challenging the status quo and making an impactful change within the community. To read more about Trevor Phillips visit https://shorturl.at/76pin

🌟 Celebrating Success at Horton Housing! 🌟 The Property Services team at Horton Housing including Asset, Development, and Repairs, gathered for their first joint meeting. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, starting with a Cuppa and Breakfast. Key Highlights 😊 91% Tenant Satisfaction: Kudos to the team for achieving an impressive satisfaction rate with completed repairs! 👏 8,946 Repairs Completed: From April 2023 to March 2024, the team completed all repairs, meeting all scheduled targets. Great job, and team! Richard J. Energy Efficiency & New Homes: Dave McCarthy shared exciting updates on making homes more energy-efficient and acquiring new homes with funding from Homes England ⚡️ John Green’s presentation on compliance, especially regarding damp and mould, was insightful. The team celebrated 100% compliance in all six areas, earning commendation from the Horton Board. The meeting also embraced the Strength-Based Approach, focusing on the term “Home” rather than unit or property, which was well-received by the team. The day ended on a fun note with a quiz, where John Green narrowly beat Hasib in a tie-breaker. Overall, it was a productive and enjoyable meeting, fostering a sense of camaraderie among team members. Looking forward to the next one in December! 🏆 #HortonHousing #TeamSuccess #PropertyServices #TenantSatisfaction #EnergyEfficiency #Compliance #StrengthBasedApproach
