This month we’re taking part in the annual charity will-writing campaign Will Aid. We’ve been able to raise £6,315 for this fantastic cause to date. The campaign involves solicitors waiving the fee for writing a basic will and instead ask for a donation to Will Aid. All donations are distributed between partner charities that support the cause. Our team includes qualified lawyers and experienced professionals who provide a personal, friendly and cost effective service and have clients throughout England and Wales. We want to get away from a de-personalised, process driven approach which often saw the client treated as a commodity (but charged a premium rate). Our belief is that if our staff are appreciated and looked after properly, they will treat our clients in the same way, and we can provide the best advice and support at a lower cost. Drawing from extensive experience, we can produce detailed expert witness statements that are informed by the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and provide realistic, proportionate cost estimates for acting as professional deputy. Our expert’s statements include review and commentary on: ✅ The capacity of the protected party ✅ Appropriacy of appointing a professional deputy ✅ Proportionality of costs ✅ Alternatives to the appointment of a professional deputy ✅ The role of the deputy and the level of input required We receive instructions from over 30 different firms nationally. In addition to providing written statements, sometimes on an urgent basis, our experts advise in conference with counsel and appear as an expert witness at trial.
