At times, our commitment to reducing the risk of service strikes across our sites and ultimately providing a safer working environment for our workforce takes us into a new world of technology. Recently we found ourselves on site with the MDiG and RODRADAR team where they provided us with a presentation and practical demonstration of their highly innovative “Live Dig Radar” technology. RodRadar is a system which provides real-time, on-site alerts for the prevention of damage to underground utility infrastructure during excavation. After a successful demonstration, we’re now looking forward to completing a long-term trial of the equipment which will allow us to test out the equipment in various conditions. #HAMeansMore

Last week, our team had the opportunity to attend two fantastic events, supporting students in preparing for their future careers. We started with a mock interview session at Maricourt High School, helping students gain valuable experience and build confidence for future college, university, or job applications. We are excited to support the next generation in this way! We also attended the University of Liverpool’s LivUni Careers Fair 2024 at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. It was a great opportunity for students to connect with industry professionals and explore various career paths, and we’re proud to have played a part in their journey! #HAMeansMore Elevate Education Business Partnership

Showcasing our completed works at Liverpool One Bus Station. We are pleased to announce that the comprehensive upgrade to the station's road infrastructure is now complete, delivering significant improvements to the area. This project, delivered on behalf of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, ensures the station meets the latest design standards while enhancing overall safety and efficiency. Key improvements include: • Carriageway resurfacing • Concrete bay replacements • Renewal of ironworks Sustainability was a key focus on this project. We used our proprietary low-carbon HALO warm mix asphalt products, and the first CEVO low-carbon concrete in the North West. Together, these significantly reduced the project’s carbon footprint. The use of HVO fuel for plant and generators, along with waste segregation on site, further reduced the environmental impact of the works. These efforts contribute to Liverpool’s Net Zero 2030 goals while supporting a more sustainable future for the city’s transport infrastructure. We are proud to have enhanced this vital public transport hub for the Liverpool City Region. #HAMeansMore Merseytravel

Following up from Lakeside School's visit to our Tarbock Island site in July and in collaboration with Tarmac, we’re excited to share the results of the drawing competition we ran as part of the visit! The students had a fantastic time exploring the site, learning about the construction process, and even getting up close with some of our machinery. We invited them to capture the most interesting or exciting things they saw in their drawings, and the creativity we received was incredible. We’re thrilled to announce that these are our winners from Lakeside School! Their amazing design will soon be displayed across the site for everyone to enjoy. A huge thank you to all the students for their enthusiasm and brilliant artwork. #HAMeansMore Knowsley Council Witherslack Group Janine Drew Ali Gibney

This World Mental Health Day, we're highlighting the importance of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Statistics from the campaign leaders Mental Health Foundation show that in the UK, 15% of workers have a mental health condition, with 875,000 experiencing work-related stress, depression, or anxiety in recent years. Mental health was also the 5th most common reason for sickness absence last year, showing just how crucial this issue is for individuals, businesses, and communities. At HA Civils, we’re committed to fostering a supportive work environment through our Time to Talk initiative, encouraging open conversations and providing access to mental health resources. Together, we can create a healthier, more productive workplace where everyone thrives. Let’s make mental health a priority, today and every day. #HAMeansMore #WorldMentalHealthDay2024

Yesterday in partnership with our colleagues at Merseytravel we were delighted to make a donation to the Wirral Foodbank. As the cost of living continues to rise, more families in the local area are facing hardship. Wirral Foodbank plays a vital role in ensuring that no one in the community goes hungry, but they need help to continue providing this essential support. With over 200 volunteers and supporting 11 different food banks across the Wirral, the job every individual does, is crucial to the ongoing support of food parcels across the borough. Our donation consisted of: • 42 Packs of Nappies • 70 Tins of Mixed Vegetables • 60 Tins of Fruit Supporting these local communities is something we are very passionate about and underpins our HAMeansMore ethos. #HAMeansMore Liverpool City Region Combined Authority

Yesterday, our Sustainability Manager Sophie Colleran, had the pleasure of attending the launch of the GROW Sustainability Campus at Bowring Park, Knowsley. This is a fantastic initiative by oneday ltd. , The Sustainability Academy, and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, showcasing how we can achieve net zero by 2030 and supporting businesses within Liverpool and the wider city region. The event was an inspiring step toward simplifying sustainability and empowering businesses and individuals to take meaningful action. Through engaging demonstrations, networking with like-minded organisations, and a walking tour of the new campus, we learned how GROW will help break down barriers to sustainability and create opportunities for businesses to meet ESG targets and thrive in a greener future. We're excited to see how GROW will evolve, and how they will support our contribution to the city’s sustainability goals. #HAMeansMore
