Here's a breakdown of the potential impact: 👉🏽 Impact on Student HMOs 🗓️ Students will likely be able to end their tenancy with a 30-60 day notice period, avoiding being tied to a 52-week contract. 🧘🏽 This change offers students WAY more flexibility and potentially reducing their rent burden during non-term times. 📈 To counterbalance the financial shortfall from shorter tenancy periods, landlords may raise rent prices, affecting affordability for students. 🏡 Some landlords may choose to sell their HMOs, reducing the number of options for students because properties are returning to the general rental market. This could be part of the government’s plan to redistribute housing availability! 👉🏽 Impact on PBSA 📄 PBSA will potentially have to sign up for a code of operations. Major props to the relentless hustle of Safwaan M. 👏🏼 Safwaan just graduated from The University of Salford and found out we pay ambassadors £2 for every new user sign-up. So, he got creative and made Hybr-branded chocolates (vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, and nut-free) with a tracked QR code to help out with our freshers' campaigns and boost brand awareness.
