🔨 The first of many PRS homes to be upgraded through #LetZero! Today we've started on-site retrofitting the first property through LetZero. Which has been set up to enable retrofit in the Private Rented Sector which are typically the most difficult homes to upgrade. Once completed the home will be visitable for landlords in the region looking to do the same. A Defining Moment for Magical Mushroom Company® We are entering a pivotal new chapter at MMC®. This month, we begin transitioning from our trusted Esher and Attenborough facilities to the latest state-of-the-art Beeston factory, redefining sustainable, industrial-scale packaging, which we can replicate in other locations. After five years of operations, Esher (Mushroom 1), our pilot facility with a capacity of 1.5M parts annually, has been decommissioned and will officially close this December. Our Attenborough factory (Mushroom 2), which could produce 2.1M parts per year, will conclude operations in mid-January. Taking their place is Beeston, a world-class factory that begins production in January. This factory is unique in that it will produce raw materials and manufacture the packaging from these raw materials in the same facility, and by July 2025, it will reach a staggering 15 million parts annually, a six-fold increase in capacity. Alongside Beeston, our Sofia factory in Bulgaria, Mushroom 3 - which has a similar capacity, is rapidly scaling up, with utilisation growing fast as we meet increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions. We also have a new R&D and prototyping facility in Addlestone, Surrey, to add to the estate. Redefining Sustainability Beeston and Sofia exemplify our mission to eliminate polystyrene by offering scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective alternatives. Combining in-house raw material production and cutting-edge manufacturing, these facilities deliver Mushroom® Packaging at a price comparable to polystyrene. Over the first two years of Innovate UK's Net Zero Heat programme, we successfully ran three competitions for grant funding, leading to 15 remarkable investments.
