ICGN has responded to the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA)'s draft sustainability disclosure rules. We welcome the QFCRA's efforts to align with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and encourage adopting the #ISSB Standards without substantial modifications, to the greatest extent possible. ICGN supports the ISSB’s mission to develop a global baseline of sustainability-related corporate disclosures, grounded in financial materiality, and believe the adoption of the ISSB Standards will contribute to greater transparency on companies’ exposure to and management of sustainability risks and opportunities. Robust audit standards are critical to ensure comparable and decision-useful information for investors and other stakeholders, instilling confidence in the quality and reliability of information. ICGN has responded to the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) Post-Exposure public consultation on its Listed and Public Interest Entities (PIE) Project, offering broad support for the proposals. The consultation, closing 27 March, sets out the IAASB’s final position and pathway to broader differential requirements relating to the definitions of listed and PIE entities in the International Standards on Quality Management (ISQMs) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs). ICGN has responded to the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) consultation to inform the implementation of California Climate-Disclosure Legislation. We welcome California’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency of companies’ management of climate-related financial risks. Climate change will bring material risks (both physical risks and transition risks) for companies across many sectors, as well as material opportunities.
