20 Years of Nurturing Creative Talent! 🎉 The Ideas Foundation began its journey in Hackney, working alongside colleges like BSix to open doors for diverse young talent in the creative industries. Two decades later, we're still going strong—partnering with colleges to help shape the next generation of creative thinkers. Our mission is simple: to nurture a new creative class by bringing real-world experiences into classrooms through partnerships with brands, educators, and brilliant mentors. What makes our work so special? It's the opportunity to share our skills, learn from the creativity of younger students, and watch them grow. Along the way, there's plenty of laughter, life lessons, and inspiration to go around! Yes, we’re contributing to the curriculum, Gatsby benchmarks, widening participation, and even ESG agendas. But we’re doing it in a way that’s dynamic, hands-on, and fun—not just a checklist exercise. A huge thank you to our amazing partners: ✨ Procter & Gamble Pantene for the inspiring initial brief ✨ Teesside University for hosting us at their London campus Plexal HERE EAST and to Abbie English and Kathryn E. ✨ BSix College for your engaged students and supportive tutors ✨ frog for providing six dedicated mentors and a creative brief ✨ And to our incredible tutors who bring a mentoring mindset—setting high standards and through encouragement and support. Adisa Stephen-Ezeocha Ben Worth Eliska Sky And to Canon EMEA Nathan Dua Adam Pensotti for the loan of equipment! During Black History Month, the "Power of Hair" brief is especially significant. As our wonderful tutor Toni Peters said: "These sessions give young people invaluable insights into real-world media. They dive in, learn, and grow so much." Together, we’re empowering the next generation of creative talent, and the journey is just as exciting as the destination. 🌟🎨 #BlackHistoryMonth #PowerOfHair #IdeasFoundation #CreativityInTheClassroom #FutureTalent #DiversityInCreativity #MentorshipMatters #WideningParticipation #ESGGoals #CreativeIndustries

So love seeing feedback from teachers and students!
It's safe to say that I don't utilise LinkedIn enough, however I wanted to take the opportunity to shout out to my amazing students and the great team at the Ideas Foundation and BBC Creative. What a great week our students had working with the Ideas Foundation and BBC Creatives developing ideas for a campaign for the 'Good Girls Guide to Murder'. Each one of the students has grown massively in their individual journeys with us over the last year or so and yesterday they really did us proud. Congratulations for truly being amazing and thank you so much to Ideas Foundation for the amazing work that you do. The Manchester College

Fantastic to see this beautiful if alarming image brings to life the importance of researching into how pollution is harming babies in the womb. Well done Queen Mary University of London and thanks to Ideas Foundation Shafia Fiaz Images such as this I think are so important to explore impacts of climate emergency and the value of climate education that we are exploring at #WEdFevents

✨ A Night to Remember at the Creative Floor Awards 2024 ✨ We were thrilled to attend the Creative Floor Awards this time last weekcelebrating the world’s best creative work and talent in healthcare communications. This event is more than just awards—it's about inspiring greater diversity and unlocking untapped talent in health and wellness communication agencies. We spent the evening meeting some wonderful people and being inspired by fantastic campaigns such as Alopecia Mirror, Dogs without Borders, Throwaway Comments and I am Not Just Black, Skin of Colour Society. Last year, we were honoured to receive the Talent and Diversity Fund, and the impact has been incredible. The funds have enabled us to bring creative learning experiences to those who need them most, making a real difference in social mobility and improving life chances. Want to learn more about our work? This year we want to develop more creative campaigns addressing health inequalities and women and children’s health. If you want to get involved in designed the campaigns please get in touch with us. We know that pollution, climate change, stress and poverty impact on health at different life stages even from within the womb where particulate matter is now being breathed by unborn babies. #CreativeFloorAwards #HealthcareCommunications #DiversityAndInclusion #TalentDevelopment #SocialMobility #CreativeLearning #healthinequalities #QMUL Thanks Shaheed Peera for all you do to have a creative conscience when celebrating great work through The Creative Floor Awards

The Ideas Foundation works with young people to co-create campaigns that raise awareness about image issues and the importance of research, including Queen Mary University of London’s Magenta Project, to reach broader audiences. One of our alumni, Shafia Fiaz has created an illustration to highlight this message. She explains: "With this piece, I aimed to deliver a bold and straightforward message: pollution impacts the most vulnerable - those we cannot see, like a baby growing in its mother's womb. Babies and children are particularly sensitive to environmental hazards, making this issue all the more urgent to address. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with the Ideas Foundation once again, especially in support of QMUL on this vital project." Great interview and careers inspiration from one of our trustees Simeon Quarrie. Work out what you love to do and apply it to a problem that needs fixing.
✨ Something magical happened on Friday I attended my first ever BYP Network Careers fest and Leadership Conference which I attended solo because I didn't have anyone that I knew that was going. The event was filled with passionate people at so many different stages in their career: - folks who were about to graduate who wanted to get early conversations with prospective employers - folks who were established in their careers and wanted to network - folks who have successfully incorporated their companies and seeking to network - folks who in between the last 2 and wanted to network The magic of all of this is that we had an environment filled with ambitious people and let me tell when you bring together folks who are ambitious in so many aspects you will see folks create meaningful connections. That experience is something that will have me returning to future events as I was so impressed with literally everyone. I felt so motivated being around so many great people and even the nerves I had prior to event very quickly simmered once I got chatting with people. Here's an example of the magic I mentioned earlier, meet Simeon Quarrie: - Founder of VIVIDA, an organisation that combines learning and storytelling to deliver training for big companies - He was one of the keynote speakers in the Mobilising Skills to Navigate Technological and Economic Risks session - I approached him immediately after the session to ask for an interview which he was super happy to do and he also went on to intro me to Des Massicott, CISSP, CEH so I can interview him next (Loved the bit where Des says "Des from Harlesden" in the session) As a street interviewer I'm very familiar with rejection in so many ways so when a moment like this came up I was so happy and appreciative! If you have been following me on LinkedIn for some time you'll see that my connections have been recently filling up with folks that inspire me The message of this street interview really resonates with me as I find myself building a platform unique in it's entirety and I've stayed true to the transparency element of the platform. As I evolve so will my platform 🚀 I'll be at Black Tech Fest next month so let's connect if you'll be attending too 📱 P.S. I'm looking forward to round 2 of iPhone Vs Android Derrick Alexander Jr. Mayowa Olutade 😂 #islifesimple #bypnetwork #networking
