📣 It’s announced – our new ‘dance powerhouse’.... Revealing the opening programme of Sadler’s Wells East! 🎊 Sadler’s Wells East, our brand-new venue in Stratford, east London is opening in February 2025! Situated in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Sadler’s Wells East forms part of the East Bank cultural and educational quarter, alongside the BBC, London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, Victoria and Albert Museum and UCL East, and is supported by the Mayor of London and LLDC.     The venue offers ‘dance from every angle’ - so, get ready for a range of styles: everything from hip hop to bharatanatyam, ballet to dance theatre, vogue and house to waacking and even welding(!)    The inaugural season features over 20 productions, including 7 UK Premieres and 10 Sadler’s Wells co-productions and commissions. It’s a new kind of cultural destination offering global perspectives, local roots and making national impact.     Our opening show is Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu's Our Mighty Groove, which features a community cast from east London alongside professional dancers from Uchenna Dance. London-based artists are championed throughout opening season, which culminates in an exciting new collaboration with Stratford East.     Sadler’s Wells East provides a home for some of the most exciting dance being produced across the country, and our opening season will indlude work by artists and companies from Manchester, Birmingham, Ashford, Leeds, Newcastle, Leicester and Cardiff.    In addition, Trajal Harrell, Mythili Prakash, and Emma Martin make their Sadler’s Wells debuts as the programme shines the spotlight on leading choreographic voices from around the world.    Tell me more? Our new venue features a flexible auditorium which will be transformed, at various points, into a skatepark, a club dance floor, a photography studio and an immersive rave experience!     The building is also home to two educational facilities, nurturing dance talent. Academy Breakin’ Convention, the UK’s first free Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performance and The Rose Choreographic School is an experimental research project, which sees dance artist develop their own choreographic practice..    Our building will be open to the public throughout the day, and has a public performance space, The Dance Floor, in our wrap-around foyer, which will give a platform for community groups, guest artists and more. Six state-of-the-art studios will enable dance artists to develop and create new work, and the theatre will be a new production base and opening venue for some of Sadler’s Wells’ own productions. We recently shared a snapshot of Here East COO Michael Magan's insights from our latest #ImpactReport on why 2024 will be a memorable year for Here East. ⚡ One of the milestones he highlighted was the preparations for the grand opening of the V&A Storehouse on our campus in 2025. “Another hallmark of 2024 is the anticipation felt across our campus as we prepare for the opening of the V&A Storehouse early next year. The opening will tie us closer to the #EastBank and the new V&A East museum. Working closely together ahead of the grand opening, it’s been exciting to see the V&A’s national collection come to Here East alongside an incredible array of artefacts – including a unique collection of David Bowie photography, album artwork, and memorabilia.” With the countdown to the grand opening well and truly on, just last week the V&A announced they had completed the colossal move of their collection from Blythe House to Here East – auditing, tracking, and transporting hundreds of thousands of incredible artefacts to our campus. We’re honoured to see this incredible collection find a new home on our campus – and we can’t wait for you to experience it soon✨ Watch this space – the V&A Storehouse at Here East will be open to the public in 2025! 📸Image courtesy of Victoria and Albert Museum, London. #HereEast | #EastLondon | #EastBank | #Community | #Creativity | #Culture | #Impact | #Collaboration | #Partnership | HERE EAST | Michael Magan | Gavin Poole | London Borough of Hackney | Victoria and Albert Museum | Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

As the new school year begins, we were thrilled to welcome local parents and students to our campus today to celebrate our #Back2School campaign 📚 A joint initiative from Here East and our charity partner, BADU CIC, this campaign is part of our broader mission reducing child poverty in the local growth boroughs by supporting local families with the cost of school supplies and uniforms. For many children, a school uniform isn't just about appearance — it's about fostering inclusion and creating a level playing field where every student feels valued. In a community where child poverty levels average 44%, many families face significant challenges in providing these essential items. We set out to change that by encouraging donations of new or pre-loved uniforms and essential school supplies 🎒 Thank you to everyone who donated – your support continues to uplift and empower our local community and its talented next generation. And thank you to the incredible Badu team; we’re proud to be your partner in making a tangible difference to the lives of vulnerable children in East London, opening pathways to the opportunities they deserve 🤝 Dr Nana Badu | Onaba Payab | Isaac Vale | Gavin Poole | Michael Magan | Sara Carthy | London Borough of Hackney | Hackney Education | Plexal | Barratt London | #LocalImpact | #Education | #TheBaduWay | #HereEast

🎖 As the Paris Paralympics draw to a close this weekend, we’ve been reminiscing over the 2012 London Olympic Games. Watch our video below which captures some of our favourite highlights from 12 years ago, including the very first dinner party we organised in the Athletes Village / soon to be East Village by the ball of joy that is chef Gino Decampo, a revisit from one of our Olympic favourites, Anthony Joshua, and Jamie Hodge - at the time comms manager for the Stratford Renaissance Partnership and now working for The Earls Court Development Company’s one of our platform businesses – predicting the successful legacy story that followed London 2012.   We are so proud to say Delancey was a major part of helping to deliver the legacy for the games, investing on behalf of its clients to redevelop the media and broadcast centre into HERE EAST, now a multi-award winning tech and creative campus, and to transform the athlete’s village into multi-award winning neighbourhood East Village, with more than 3,800 homes.    We love how twelve years on from some of these video clips being taken, Here East and East Village’s legacies continues, and look forward to seeing what happens in Paris post games too! 🙌      #DelanceyRealEstate #EastVillage #HereEast #Regeneration #OlympicGames #Legacy #London2012

“If you think about the Olympic legacy, I don’t think there’s a better one than London.” Brilliant to see Here East and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP) featured in a Bloomberg examining how London’s Olympic legacy has transformed the East End over the past 12 years. As the #Paralympics begin, we're looking back on London’s own Paralympic Games, its legacy and how it continues to inspire our community at Here East🏅   One of the most impactful outcomes of the 2012 Paralympics has been the way it helped drive #inclusion and #accessibility across London, as well as change people’s perceptions about disabled people performing at the highest level in sport.   This legacy was a key reason why Scope, a leading disability equality charity, chose to establish its London office at Here East in 2018.   Scope's mission; to create a more #equal and #inclusive society for the 14 million disabled people in the UK aligns perfectly with our own values at Here East. With 2 in 5 disabled people feeling undervalued and disconnected from society, the work that Scope does is more critical than ever. We're proud to support them as they work tirelessly towards achieving true equality.   By being part of our collaborative ecosystem, Scope leverages the power of digital technology and partnerships to break down barriers and change perspectives.   As we cheer on the athletes at the #Paris2024 Paralympics, we're reminded of the progress made and the work that is still to be done 🤝 Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024 | Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park | London Legacy Development Corporation | Delancey | Scope | Gavin Poole | International Paralympic Committee | LOCOG (London Organising Committee Of The Olympic & Paralympic Games)
