We're thrilled to announce that West Northamptonshire Council has chosen Idox Cloud as its solution for public protection services! This partnership will help the Council streamline its regulatory services operations, improve service delivery, and enhance the experience for its residents. Once implemented, Idox Cloud will provide a comprehensive platform for managing licensing, environmental health, private-sector housing, and more. Cllr Matt Golby, WNC’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Adult Care, Public Health and Regulatory Services said: “Following call-off from G-Cloud 13 framework, I am pleased to confirm that Idox were awarded a contract to provide the Idox Public Protection platform, a single platform for Regulatory Services and Private Sector Housing. Their support will be instrumental in consolidating several legacy systems as part of the ongoing integration following the formation of West Northamptonshire Council. Yesterday, the Address Data Solutions team at Idox hosted local authority and emergency services address custodians & GIS professionals at this year’s Customer User Group meeting in Birmingham. It was a great opportunity to meet in person to discuss all things addressing from connecting disparate datasets through the #UniquePropertyReferenceNumbers (#UPRN) to utilising external geospatial datasets for more complex insights, to the challenges of street naming and numbering. This October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it's a very personal time for many at Idox. We've shared stories in the past, including those of Martin Bowman and Margaret Montgomery. Since he began raising money for Breast Cancer Now, Martin has raised over £9000; while Margaret took part in this year's London Moonwalk to bring awareness to the issue. Did you know there can be around 100 addresses within a single postcode? A #UniquePropertyReferenceNumber (#UPRN), on the other hand, accounts for a single precise address – from a flat in a block or converted house to an electricity substation. The benefits of the UPRNs don’t stop at providing pin-point precision - local authorities are also using them to link disparate datasets, and enable complex analysis and data-driven decision-making, resulting in significant financial savings. A recent report showed that the widespread use of address and street data, complete with UPRNs and USRNs, generate £384m savings over the period 2022 – 2026.
