What a fantastic day at the Bristol Property Agents Association (BPAA) Golf Day last week! Despite the wet weather leading up to the event, the day turned out great thanks to the incredible efforts of the Bristol & Clifton Golf Club team. We had a brilliant time connecting with professionals across the property and construction sectors. As always, we were proud to sponsor this event and help raise money for the incredible Penny Brohn UK charity, which supports people affected by cancer. A big thank you to Rob Russell and the BPAA for organising such a successful day! Iesis Structures is proud to have provided both civil and structural engineering services for the successful Oaklands development. This project, completed in March 2022, consists of 18 three-bedroom dwellings, 6 one-bedroom flats, and 34 two-bedroom flats, along with access roads, car parking, external works, and landscaping. Our team implemented a range of sustainable drainage solutions (SuDS) to manage surface water, designed in accordance with the SuDS hierarchy. By utilising swales, permeable paving, attenuation tanks, and above-ground temporary flooding, we were able to: - Reduce discharge rates to greenfield run-off levels - Filter pollutants - Promote biodiversity Despite good percolation rates, contaminated ground conditions meant we had to line all SuDS features with impermeable membranes to prevent contamination. Foul water was managed via a private packaged pumping station. This project also required successful approvals of: - Drainage agreements (s.106 & s.104) to adopt new foul and surface water sewers - Highway s.278 agreement for site entrance creation We’re proud of the sustainable and innovative solutions that helped make Oaklands a success. #Engineering #SustainableDesign #IesisStructures #OaklandsDevelopment #CivilEngineering #StructuralEngineering #SuDS #DevelopmentSuccess Iestyn Lewis, Matt Jones, David Steadman, Alan Werrett, Anthony Ruck, Gareth Wilby, and Roger Jack.

Two weeks ago, the Iesis Structures team traded in their hard hats for helmets and paddles as we took on white water rafting at the Lee Valley Water Centre! It was an action-packed day filled with team bonding, kayaking, and some intense rodeo rafting! Starting the day off with brunch at The Breakfast Club, we geared up for an afternoon of fun on the water. Kayaking gave us a nice warm-up, but the real challenge came when we hit the rapids with two full rafts of nine people. After a thrilling session on the water, we relaxed and enjoyed a well-deserved drink at the bar to cap off an incredible day. #TeamBuilding #IesisStructures #WhiteWaterRafting #TeamWork #LeeValleyWaterCentre

We are incredibly proud of Team Iesis Structures for taking part in the iconic London to Brighton cycle ride on Sunday in memory of Alex Colby, a close friend of Matt Jones, who tragically lost his battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The team successfully raised over £3,000, surpassing their initial target of £2,000, with all funds going to the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. The MNDA provides vital care, support, and research to those affected by this devastating disease. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this cause. Donations are still open if you would still like to contribute, and every contribution helps. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/eYk24_rS Thank you for your continued support. We are incredibly proud of our Iesis Structures team, who are coming together to raise funds in memory of Alex, a close friend of our CEO, Matt Jones, who was recently lost to the devastating Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This brutal disease has touched us deeply, and we are committed to making a difference. The support Alex received during his battle was truly remarkable, and through this fundraiser, we aim to help provide similar care and understanding to others affected by this terrible disease. By raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, we hope to bring a bit of comfort and happiness to both patients and their families during these challenging times. If you can afford to contribute, your support would mean the world to us and to those who need it most. 🙏🏻 Please consider donating: https://lnkd.in/eYk24_rS Thank you for your generosity and support.
