With heartfelt thanks, IIBA UK wishes to acknowledge Gavin Ross for his tremendous contributions both as Community Director North and Scotland & Technology Director over the last four years, as he steps down from his current role. Reflecting on our journey together, Gavin was a key person connecting IIBA UK and the BALife committee. Under his leadership of the North and Scotland branches, Gavin contributed significantly by providing a range of events across the North of England for our members, creating forums for BA practitioners to engage, learn and network. The pandemic and IIBA Harmonisation significantly increased the demand for our technology platform. Gavin was key to ensuring that our platform met our needs and that we were in the first wave of Chapters that moved to the new Membernova platform. He worked closely with the global IIBA team, and other Technology Directors to create a successful rollout. Thank you, Gavin! Both the IIBA UK Board and our members will greatly miss working alongside you. To our fellow BA practitioners, we invite you to share your memories and fun facts to help us give Gavin a cheerful and memorable farewell!

With immense gratitude, IIBA UK would like to thank Sam Merrick for his outstanding contributions over the past four years, as he steps down from his current role as Operations Director. Sam joined the IIBA UK Board in 2020 as Membership Director and moved into the Operations Director role in 2022. During his tenure as Membership Director, Sam defined our value proposition and framework for organizations to work with IIBA UK. He successfully managed interactions with corporations and implemented our corporate engagement scheme, thereby giving us access to a wider range of locations for networking and development events. Following both the Covid and IIBA Harmonisation, the operating model of our chapter changed significantly. As Operations Director, Sam played a pivotal role by performing a full architectural analysis of our needs, identifying gaps and priorities, and creating a strategic roadmap for the chapter. Since then, he has been working with volunteers to fill those gaps. Throughout his years with IIBA UK, Sam was our certifications expert, advising members on acquiring and maintaining IIBA Certification. He is also known for his witty and clever rhyming presentations at the BA Conference, Europe. We will miss Sam’s presence on the board and are hugely grateful for the work he has undertaken with IIBA UK.
