A toast to a successful season 🥂 Yesterday, we hit the racetrack and the shooting range to celebrate Josef Newgarden's INDY500 victory and Team Chevrolet’s Engine Manufacturers Championship at Whilton Mill! 🏎️💥   In true Ilmor fashion, the competition was fierce, with everyone channelling their inner Newgarden on the track (some more successfully than others!). And of course, clay pigeon shooting added just the right amount of adrenaline to the day. The victorious few walked away with a bottle of milk – because, well, INDY500 tradition! It was a fantastic way to toast a successful season and officially welcome our new recruits to the team. Hat-trick for Team Chevrolet 🎉 Huge congratulations to Team Chevrolet for winning the 2024 IndyCar Engine Manufacturer’s Championship for the third year in a row! The competition was strong, but we are extremely proud to have won 11/17 races this season, including a notable win in the Indy 500 by Newgarden. Congratulations to all our drivers and partner race teams for the enormous effort in securing points towards winning the manufacturers championship for the 3rd time running. The hard work now begins for the 2025 season, striving to securing a 4th consecutive Manufacturer’s Championship. Out with the old, in with the new! 📈 Yesterday marked the day that the first MAM72 63V PC6 machine (MAM-2) left us. We received this machine in 2011, and it has done us proud. It has produced around 10,000 production parts including: -         Cylinder heads -         Cam covers -         Sumps -         Cylinder blocks This machine has seen us win: -         139 Indy Car Series races -         8 Drivers Championships -         9 Manufacturing Championships We are sad to see it go :( However, like they say, out with the old and in with the new. And aren’t we excited for the new!! We will be welcoming a new machine which is a Matsuura MAM72 70V PC6 in the near future. We are looking forward to this weekend in Toronto after Scott McLaughlin and Will Power won at Iowa. Congratulations to Team Penske and Team Chevrolet for their strong performance last weekend. Race 1 saw Mclaughlin dominate the track, leading the race for the final 164 laps earning him his highly anticipated first oval win. Race 2 saw Power strategically moved up from starting position 22 to the lead aided by pitstops by the Penske Chevrolet trackside crew. Mistakes and crashes were numerous throughout both races, many occurring due to difficulties to pass other drivers. We are proud of the team for navigating these challenges effectively. It was an extremely competitive race, and we are very proud to have been a part of this historic event with all cars racing with a new hybrid system made by a collaboration between Honda and Chevrolet. Josef Newgarden won back-to-back Indianapolis 500 races, (22 years since Helio Castroneves in 2001 and 2002), driving a Chevrolet-powered car. The race was enthralling from start to finish with three yellow cautions within the first 30 laps to some fantastic overtaking by Josef on the last lap to take victory. Congratulations also to Arrow McLaren who finished 2nd and 4th with Pato O’Ward and Alexander Rossi. Chevrolet cars highlighted their power with 7 drivers finishing within the top 10. Throughout the whole 500-mile race with 16 cars we experienced no engine issues! Congratulations to the whole of Team Chevrolet, we are so proud to be a part of the team.
