Spotted the giant red shoebox in Norwich last week? If you were passing through the Castle Quarter, Norwich, you probably did. (A bright red, giant shoebox is pretty hard to miss, after all...) At the most basic level, an aim to turn heads and grab the attention of passers-by formed the first layer of our project with The Shoebox Experiences. Doing so in the form of a giant shoebox, coated in core brand assets, supported brand awareness while creating a sense of mystery – prompting curious visitors to question ‘what’s in the box?’   Inside, guests are taken on a mini discovery of some of the Shoebox’s key tours. A warm, lantern-lit environment immediately created a sense of atmosphere for guests, and contrasted with the bright exterior. We added in subtle sensory touches and interactive elements to each tour ‘zone’ – from a whisky scented aromatiser within the ‘Tipsy Tavern’ area, to projection tech and eerie footsteps in the ‘Lantern Light’ section. The team guided guests through each key tour, as well as sharing the backstory of The Shoebox, their Community Hub and the hidden medieval street that lies beneath it. After tackling the first challenge of simply being noticed, the installation aimed to capture interest, connect with a local audience and deliver a memorable experience to guests. A memorable experience that should – in combination with a multi-channel marketing campaign across digital, PR, print, and mail – make prospects more likely to recognise The Shoebox when they’re looking for a unique experience in Norwich. Bringing an experiential space like the giant shoebox to Norwich is something we’ve been proud to achieve, particularly as the activation supports The Shoebox Enterprises CIC and the important work they do in our community. Events and experiences are a powerful tool in the box for brands of all sizes and sectors, and one we hope more brands will deploy in our city going forward. A true collaboration of local business, the creation of the giant shoebox has brought together our entire team (across marketing, design, and production), with Castle Quarter, local connections, press, and the team at The Shoebox, who have been a joy to work with throughout. People. They can make or break an event or a brand experience. Memorable, successful experiences are the product of a giant melting pot of factors - captivating design, punchy pre-event marketing, a clear connection with strategy... the list goes on. We'll set you up for success by guiding you through your project. From expert consultancy to ensure the event delivers on your marketing goals, to designing a stand-out space, to practically bringing it to life (and all the bits in between). But when it comes to interacting with customers and telling the story of your brand - the power is in your hands... We're proud of the creative outcomes we've achieved this week, with the giant red shoebox landing in Castle Quarter, Norwich after an extraordinary collaborative effort. We're also proud to see it be brought to life by the genuine passion and infectious energy of The Shoebox Experiences team. By inviting visitors inside the mystery space, engaging them in the story of The Shoebox, and delivering an entertaining experience, memories of The Shoebox Experiences are more likely to 'stick' when visitors are searching for something unique to do in Norwich. The impact of storytelling, human interaction, and experience, teamed with a marketing tool like the giant shoebox, shouldn't be underestimated by brands of any size or sector. As one part of the melting pot, people are powerful ingredients in experiential marketing, as shown this week by Lisa Willett, Tom Gaskin, Holly Lauren Smith and the rest of The Shoebox team. #Brand #Marketing #ExperientialMarketing

What’s in the box? 📦 🤔 How do you generate interest about what you do when your name is ‘The Shoebox Experiences’? 💡 Simple! You build a giant red shoebox that people can actually enter and experience a snapshot of your offerings. The Shoebox Experiences' giant red Shoebox is currently in situ at Castle Quarter, Norwich, on level 1, near Leading Labels and Boots. We had the pleasure of popping along this week, and it was lovely to catch up with Tom, Lisa Willett and Holly Lauren Smith, who are all excellent, passionate champions of The Shoebox Experiences, and of course, Norwich. Shoutout too to Image Experiential, who took the exciting idea of building this giant shoebox and made it a reality. We love it! So… what *is* in the box?  You’ll find no spoilers here - you’ll have to see for yourself… better still, hop over to The Shoebox Experience website and book yourself on a tour. Being obsessed with all things historical and Norwich, Andrew and I are massive fans. And that’s before you throw in the amazing work these guys do in the local community, beyond educating and entertaining us about our rich past. In fact, we’re booked on to the Spooky Stories in the Street tour today! 👻 #TheShoeboxExperiences #NorwichHistory #CommunityEngagement #ExperientialMarketing #LocalBusinesses #HistoricalTours #PopUpExperiences #CreativeInstallations Famous Campaigns

Well it’s not every day you get to invite people to the opening of a box… 📦 But, of course, it’s not just any box – it’s a giant red shoebox, created to capture the spirit of The Shoebox Experiences. Inside, visitors can sample our unique tours that bring Norwich’s rich history to life, and outside, they can sit, enjoy a hot drink, and explore how our Shoebox community helps people connect and do more of what they love together. This giant shoebox wouldn’t have been possible without the vision and collaboration of Image Experiential, who took the exciting idea of building a giant shoebox and made it a reality. They’ve been fantastic to work with, and we’re so grateful! A special shoutout to our brilliant team and volunteers who are running the pop-up, to Castle Quarter, Norwich for hosting us, and to everyone who visited and showed their support on our first day. We had an incredible start, and we hope the giant shoebox continues to capture the curiosity of visitors, inspiring them to think of us when they’re looking for something fun and unique to do in Norwich. Food and drink marketers, are you planning to exhibit at an event or trade show? Here's 5 things you should think about before you go... 1. Are you serving samples on your stand? Depending on what your product is, how it's packaged, and the level of prep required at the venue, you'll have strict health and safety rules to meet. Be prepared and know what's required early on in the planning process. If in doubt, speak to the event organiser or your stand partner. 2. Experience is everything with food and drink, so don't just let visitors taste your product. Let them smell, touch, even listen to it. Share your story, and make interactions as memorable as possible. And remember, people eat with their eyes first, so make sure that your samples look appealing too! 3. The opportunities at food and drink shows can be found far beyond your stand. Explore, network, and get involved with talks and panel events to build connections and extend your reach further. 4. Share your goals and objectives with your exhibition stand partner. Understanding what matters most for your brand's success, we can create stand-out brand spaces, captivating sampling stations and product displays, hands-on product interactions and much much more. 5. Don't be quiet in the run up to your event. Be active online before and during (and after) the show, and use your stand and staff to attract prospective customers. Need support with an upcoming project for your food or drink brand? Get in touch and speak to our team today. #FoodExpo #FoodEvents #FoodDrinkEvents
