    The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) has appointed BAIC Motor Corporation Limited( 北京汽车股份有限公司) as the Official Automotive Partner for the 2024 Arabian Gulf Cup. Brokered by IMG, AGCFF’s commercial agency, this partnership marks a milestone as the tournament’s first official automotive sponsor, as the federation expands its commercial opportunities for its partners. Adolfo Bara, SVP & Managing Director of Football Events at IMG, commented: “BAIC Motor is an internationally renowned leader in the automotive industry, and this partnership demonstrates the Arabian Gulf Cup’s appeal as a growing global asset and attractive football property.     Our Head of Esports, Joe Jenkins recently sat down with Tom Daniels on the Esports Insider podcast to explore how both rightsholders and brands navigate this modern media landscape. They discussed the secret to finding the right deal for an esports event, how the industry is looking to entice new partners, and other opportunities beyond Sponsorship that are critical to esports’ growth. Speaking to the importance of authentic partnerships, Joe commented “If a gaming or esports partnership doesn’t make sense, the community are the first people to knock it down. The reality is that simply applying a brand doesn’t really work in this space, we have to tell a story, show credence and add an extra level of context as to why these brands are involved in this environment”.     Excited to share that TKO, the premium sports and entertainment company that comprises UFC and WWE, has reached an agreement with Endeavor to acquire IMG.     TKO is laser-focused on growth across the sports ecosystem. It is a natural new home for IMG to continue building out the integrated capabilities and resources that help us power the growth of revenues, fanbases, and IP for our partners.      The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2025, and I am proud to share I will become President of IMG at TKO when that happens.      Read more here - https://lnkd.in/d8TAJJvd

    Autumn arrived in Beijing and with it the inaugural China Smash 2024, the final World Table Tennis (WTT) Grand Smash of the year, with a USD $2,000,000 prize pool and 2000 ITTF World Ranking points up for grabs for the champions. IMG’s studios team in APAC broadcasted all the action from the Infinity Arena, using an 11-camera setup that included a Tower Cam for side-table views, a Jib for dynamic shots, and two super slow-motion cameras for replays. We also introduced Shanghai Media Technologies’ InnoMotion AI technology for real-time data and visualization, tracking ball speed, direction, and landing points—taking analysis to the next level. We are excited to support our partners, the WTT, providing production services to help raise the global profile of the sport.
