The official aeronautical society for students and aeronautics enthusiasts at Imperial College London
About us
Aeronautical Society (AeroSoc) is the society which all Aeronautical Engineering students at Imperial College London automatically become members of when commencing their studies. AeroSoc provides an opportunity for students to pursue their aeronautical interests outside the lecture theatre whilst getting to know other students in the Department through a variety of social events including hosted bar nights, dinners and lunches, sports tournaments, gliding trips and more. AeroSoc also hosts a series of Career Talks at regular intervals throughout the year, delivered by industry leaders such as Airbus, Mercedes AMG F1, GE Aviation and more, allowing students to network with potential employers and learn more about the different opportunities open to them when they graduate. AeroSoc has also organised visits to companies such as Rolls Royce, General Electric and Airbus.

Huge congratulations to Imperial College London Rocketry for this mega achievement and securing the prize for their Thrust Vector Controlled (TVC) liquid rocket engine. Truly outstanding to think they only achieved this in 5 months, definitely a dedicated and talent group of engineers! Make sure to check out their other hard work too.
🚀🚀 Imperial College London Rocketry (ICLR) just won the $15k TVC Hotfire Prize in the Lander Challenge!! 🚀🚀 Impressively, the ~100 person student team began development of their THANOS-R liquid engine & thrust vector control (TVC) system only 5 months ago! That's impressive speed for a student team with a busy class schedule... This past Sunday, ICLR became the first student team from the UK to successfully TVC a liquid engine by firing above 500 lbf for 10.4 seconds, while gimbaling their engine up to 15 degrees. This is the 3rd prize we've given out so far in the Lander Challenge, and we couldn't be more proud to see teams all around the world making fantastic progress. Congrats to Imperial College London for supporting such a fantastic group of students. All 3 Lander Challenge $15k TVC Prizes have now been claimed! That's $45k awarded to some of the world's brightest young minds so far, another $350k to go...
