The government’s pledge to transform the #NHSApp so that patients are better informed about their health, and empowered to make informed choices, has been well-rehearsed since 4 July. But will this be enough to overcome decades of stigmatisation and deprioritisation of women’s health issues?   🔎 On #WorldMenopauseDay, our Associate Director Laura Tantum looks across the life course to consider the role of technology in supporting informed decision-making in women’s health – in menopause and beyond https://lnkd.in/eyTZYHtK   🥐 In late November, we will be hosting a breakfast event to explore further how the government’s promise to prioritise women’s health can drive a more holistic approach to NHS menopause care. Contact our women’s health experts at womenshealth@incsivehealth.comto receive details once they are released, or to find out more about our expertise in women’s health policy in the UK and globally   #womenshealth #healthliteracy #digitalhealth

🇪🇺 Exciting news from the EUCOPE Members Meeting!   Today, our Head of Office, Aurélie Marchand, participated in the latest EUCOPE - European Confederation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs members meeting.    The event was packed with insightful discussions on key health policy priorities for this legislative term and the upcoming European Commission. One of the most exciting takeaways? The potential for SANT to become a standalone committee, which could broaden the European Parliament's agenda, especially in the field of rare diseases.   We're eager to discuss how these developments will shape the future of health policy in Europe. Feel free to reach out to continue the discussion!

    EU Healthcare Public Affairs

Another lively morning at the EUCOPE - European Confederation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs Members meeting, where navigating business priorities in the ever-evolving Brussels policy landscape is always an adventure. Today’s hot topic? The future of EU healthcare policies. With the latest mission letters hinting at a fragmented approach, there’s a bit of head-scratching going on. But wait—could the elevation of the SANT Sub-Committee to a full-fledged Committee be the game-changer we need? Optimism is in the air… but, as always, the devil’s in the details.

🇪🇺 Attending the Euronews Health Summit today, where one of the key discussions is about aligning Europe's industrial strategy with the pharmaceutical sector to tackle issues like medicine shortages and dependencies on third countries.   The big question is: how do we ensure an efficient Critical Medicines Act? The consensus is that the Pharma Strategy must be connected with the Industrial Strategy. This alignment is key to boosting competitiveness, fostering innovation, and reducing dependencies on the US and China.   As Draghi highlighted, revitalising Europe’s industrial strategy is crucial for growth and competition, and this link is crucial to ensuring the future of healthcare in the EU.   #EUHealth #EuronewsSummit   Get in touch with us to find out more.

🇪🇺🇧🇪 Our Senior Account Executive Maria Brandão is back from Strasbourg! It’s been an eventful and insightful week at the European Parliament plenary session, where the value of in-person connections—meeting with colleagues and policymakers—was a true highlight. From discussions on European competitiveness to reactions to the newly announced College of Commissioners, there was plenty to reflect on.   The new College of Commissioners will play a pivotal role in shaping policy in the coming years, and there’s plenty to anticipate. The decision to create a Health and Animal Welfare Commissioner, under the guidance of the Executive Vice President for People Skills and Preparedness and the Executive Vice President for Clean, Just, and Competitive Transition and the appointment of Olivér Várhelyi came as a surprise and raised some eyebrows.    In this role, the new Commissioner will oversee DG SANTE and DG HERA, focusing on strengthening the European Health Union, improving access to advanced treatments, tackling supply chain diversification and drug shortages, and finalizing crucial initiatives such as the General Pharmaceutical Legislation, the European Health Data Space, and Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan. He will also lead efforts on a new European Biotech Act and a Critical Medicines Act.   While European Competitiveness was high on the agenda, with Mario Draghi in attendance, it was evident that the pharmaceutical sector didn’t receive the attention it urgently needs. The need to prioritize health within the European agenda is clear. Now is the time to push harder to ensure that health remains a key priority in this mandate and continue to advocate for a stronger, more resilient European Health Union. 🩺
