Exactly the kind of project we would love to be involved in, if anyone knows of similar plans in the South West!

This article.... even the headline is hard to read. How can we re-think this and make it about children having positive experiences at school, feeling valued and connected to their peers and teachers? Then maybe we would have enough teachers who love going to work, and happier children and teens. I would love your thoughts, is it just me thinking it's time for a big change!?

Please have your say!
You will probably see me re-post this a few times in the coming weeks - so important that everyone responds with their honest thoughts, but particularly school based practitioners. The link here takes you directly to the page with the survey. https://lnkd.in/epek98AM

A great article about a school working effectively to reduce suspensions and exclusions. An approach we probably all believe in.

Do you run a community group in Somerset for children and find it difficult to be as inclusive as you would like? Could your group leaders benefit from training around neurodivergence, relational practice, children with learning needs? All children should be able to access the football club, theatre group, trampolining lessons in their local area, to ensure they are fully included in the community. We firmly believe this will help promote better attendance at school, fewer suspensions, and stronger communities. For a limited time, we can offer this in exchange for you being willing to consider making your club an inclusive space for all.

Tuesday thoughts....
We talk a lot about neurodiversity in our house. We talk about ideas and strategies to manage and succeed, with or without a diagnosis. We talk about the strengths and opportunities as well as the hurdles! Are schools/workplaces/prisons well equipped to support children and adults with ADHD and Autism type presentations without a diagnosis? With the long waiting lists for diagnosis, should we be focussing more on getting the earlier support right? https://lnkd.in/ezzVrpqU
ADHD has become an identity, not just a disorder. We need a new way to talk about it

Seems like this would present a good opportunity to think differently about schools - instead of rebuilding and repairing, should the conversation be about the best environments to learn, and how they can be developed to deliver a broader curriculum?
Awful read. If we take out the recent issues from the discussion, it’s clear to see an ongoing lack of investment is impacting on the ability of schools to provide suitable conditions for pupils and staff.
