It was great to see the Ontario Government | Gouvernement de l’Ontario’s announcement last week of a $146m investment to establish Ontario as a global life sciences hub. Ontario’s life sciences sector is already the largest in Canada and has exciting potential to drive further growth, create jobs, and deliver life-changing research. Since 2015, we’re proud to have played our part in supporting Clinical Trials Ontario with our Ethics RM product, streamlining and automating reviews across 19 different ethics boards and saving an estimated $18m in costs to the public system. 🌟 Reflecting on an Insightful ARMS Conference 2024!🌟 I had the privilege of attending the ARMS Conference 2024, and it was an incredible experience filled with thought-provoking discussions and valuable insights. Here are some key highlights: 🔹 Grants Management: We explored innovative strategies to streamline the grant application process, ensuring researchers can focus more on their research work and less on administrative hurdles. 🔹 Pricing Tool: The introduction of our Pre-award module was a hit among delegates, offering a more transparent and efficient way to manage research project costs. 🔹 AI in Export Controls: The role of AI in enhancing export controls was a hot topic. We delved into how AI can help in identifying and mitigating risks associated with sensitive research data by eliminating the guesswork in relation to applicable licenses and compliances. 🔹 Foreign Interference: Addressing the challenges of foreign interference in research, we discussed best practices to safeguard our research integrity and maintain a secure research environment. 🔹 Full Economic Costing: During our "Lunch and Learn" session with Macquarie University, Erin Semon underscored the critical role fEC plays in ensuring the long-term sustainability and financial viability of research projects.
