“You have many other browsers, and many other channels, and many other new environments, such as CTV, such as commerce media - which haven’t been reliant on cookies for quite some time. [...] If you’re drafting a strategy off of this change, then you’re missing the point.” Speaking to Rob Williams at #BeetRetreatBerkshires, InfoSum’s CEO Lauren Wetzel shares her thoughts on Google’s recent announcement and what it means for marketers. Google surprised the ad world by ending a plan to remove tracking cookies from its popular Chrome browser. “Third-party cookies have always been terrible for privacy,” Lauren Wetzel, chief executive officer of InfoSum, said in this interview with Beet.TV contributor Rob Williams at the Beet Retreat Berkshires. “I like that what Google did announce is that they’re going to make it about the consumer’s choice, which is important, and their ability to opt out.” Visit Beet.TV for this video (https://lnkd.in/ey5Rzzxk) and much more from the #BeetRetreat Berkshires! #cookielessfuture #consumerprivacy #trackingcookies Reserve your spot now for the Beet Retreat Santa Monica, Nov. 13-15 🌴 https://lnkd.in/eCG-jVhV

Yesterday, Google announced it was abandoning its plans to deprecate third-party cookies. However, upon closer inspection, this news may accelerate their demise. The reality is that data privacy remains a top priority for all industry players, and the regulatory landscape will continue to evolve. For forward-thinking organizations, nothing will change. As InfoSum’s Devon DeBlasio explains, marketers will continue to adopt privacy-centric solutions, such as data clean rooms, that empower them to utilize first-party data while ensuring consumer privacy: “The forced focus on first-party data has created a new horizon for data-driven marketing that hinges on fast, accurate, and transparent insights. Data clean rooms are, and should be, ID-agnostic, providing unwavering control over how data is used—or not used—to drive results.” Learn more about what the announcement means for marketers in our blog: https://hubs.la/Q02HDhcN0 #InfoSum #DataCollaboration #DataPrivacy #FirstPartyData

“A true data clean room is a decentralized infrastructure for data partnerships that supports marketers in campaign planning and activation, audience analysis, and measurement. However, the most important aspect is to ensure consumer privacy through end-to-end protection.” Many leading companies now recognize that data privacy and protection are powerful drivers of business growth. Privacy-enhancing solutions such as data clean rooms enable companies to turn privacy into a competitive advantage. However, not every data clean room is actually clean, meaning that some myths about the technology remain. Writing in ADZINE - MARKETING. TECH. MEDIA. 🇩🇪 , InfoSum’s Managing Director, DACH, Aline Z., dispels common data clean room myths and explains how organizations can use data protection as a growth driver.
