Last night was one for the books at the Gloucestershire Business Awards!   While we didn’t take home the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, we’re incredibly proud to have been finalists and to be named highly commended for Corporate Social Responsibility.   Huge congratulations to the winners, Gloucester Brewery Ltd - it’s well-deserved! 🎉   A huge shoutout to the SoGlos - Gloucestershire's leading media brand team for an unforgettable night and for sparking some interesting dance moves from the Judges presenting the awards. Special kudos to Neil from Nimble Elearning – your dancing was top-tier! On the 10th October, some of the team attended the Race Of Remembrance Launch, courtesy of Mission Motorsport - The Forces' Motorsport Charity and Team Forces 🏎️ The afternoon was opened by a speech from James Cameron and a Chinook Flyover, which was very exciting, to say the least! Following this, the team was subject to a challenge in the Lightning McQueen Mazda MX5. In this challenge, one person had to be steering the wheel on the left side, and someone else using the pedals on the right side. This task was a true test of teamwork skills because after mastering the basics, the person steering was blindfolded and the person using the pedals had to instruct the steering verbally… this proved a very difficult task indeed! The rest of the day consisted of racing around the Autotest Circuit’s chicanes, tight turns and cones, showing off drifting skills and fast laps with a pro driver on the Thruxton Circuit.  Another big highlight our day was spending some time with Lt Col Tim Wakefield – Chief Operations Officer of Team Forces.  We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of this extremely exhilarating day.  #YourRoR #RaceRetrainRecover #RecoverySport #RORLaunchDay #RaceOfRemembrance

On Thursday, 10th October, we were very kindly invited to the Team Forces Race of Remembrance Launch. This was a day absolutely jam-packed with fun and the team at Infrastar Ltd enjoyed it so much, that we wanted to showcase what we got up to throughout the first part of our day. Shortly after arriving, we were welcomed by James Cameron, the CEO of Mission Motorsport - The Forces' Motorsport Charity who gave a speech to all attendees. Examples of the exciting talking points were: 🔸 The Unveiling of the amazing race spec Jaguar F-Type with custom paint job. 🔸 How beneficiaries of Mission Motorsport took a written off Subaru BRZ and utilised their partnership with eBay, to use certified recycled parts and turn it into a race car, and whilst working on this, they provided experience to help veterans transition into careers in the automotive industry. 🔸 How British Motorsport recently pledged to support British Armed Forces by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. 🔸 Discussing what Mission Motorsport do to support the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured, and sick serving and veteran soldiers through motorsport and the automotive industry. After then meeting our contact for the day, Steph, we had our sponsor briefing and were then allowed to take a variety of different cars out on a slippy skid pan. Some of the cars included a Jaguar XF, Mazda MX5 and a Mini. Next up was Go Karting on Thruxton Circuit's 900m outdoor National Circuit in 390cc Honda powered Thunderkarts that can reach 60mph, with some of the team even winning medals! 🏅 Overall, it was a very thrilling morning for those who attended, and it provided lots of opportunity to meet other Sponsors and Beneficiaries involved. Yesterday evening, we were very kindly invited by Earl Cadogan, President of The Odyssey Circle, to a reception to thank selected organisations for the support they offer the Ulysses Trust.   Not only was it an evening of sparking inspiration and hearing directly from those whose lives have been transformed, but it also allowed individuals to connect with members of The Odyssey Circle, along with VIP guests, and many other truly fascinating people.   We are very grateful to have been a part of this inspiring evening and are pleased to share these snippets of our experience.   The Ulysses Trust    #UlyssesTrust #UlyssesCircle
