Anyone out there frustrated. Great post the other day on the order that Business - DATA - Technology should be considered when investments and decisions are being taken by leaders. We've all seen it, been there, got the t-shirt - watching the technology fail, knowing the data will show a 180 degree turn is needed and the outcomes are somewhere buried in a PPT never to be seen again. There is a better way.. https://lnkd.in/eVApfAP7
3 Mistakes we Data & Technologists Serially Make! (No exceptions) We’ve all heard the power of story telling to communicate the solutions we think will bring value. But we often miss the most crucial step before that - understanding the business problem, and we do it in 3 ways: ☝🏼 we start listening to the business problem - then we immediately jump to a solution without fully listening to the rest! ☝🏼 we listen to the business problem - then we jump to a solution that’s tool related, without first assessing if it’s human process related! ☝🏼 we listen to the business problem - and we don’t understand it, but instead of asking questions to understand it, we make a assumptions of what’s going on! I was guilty of this earlier on and in the middle of my career. But when you hear terms like being customer-centric or client-obsessed, this is all about pushing past our ego’s and try to understand what’s really happening. So next time you want to jump to a solution, STOP!!!! #data #customerobsessed #analytics #ai #leadership #performance #productmanagement #datascience #security #governance
