Think your residents know their heating system? You might be surprised. Not all heating systems are created equal—and heat interface units (HIUs) are in a league of their own. While HIUs may look similar to other systems, there's one big difference: they're connected to a heat network. That means when one HIU isn't maintained properly, it can affect not just a single household, but everyone connected to the network. So when it comes to heat networks, a little maintenance goes a long way. And this extends to your residents where HIU maintenance may not be included in the leasehold contracts. They can now book a HIU service directly with us: 📝: https://lnkd.in/e6BQzXc2 ✉️: hiusupport@insite-energy.co.uk 📞: 0120 031 6200 #HIU #HeatNetworks #BuildingEfficiency #MaintenanceMatters #CommunalHeating #ResidentSupport #EnergyEfficiency #HeatingSystems

Halloween is just around the corner, so it’s the perfect time to explore some strange and spooky ways we keep our world warm 👻 Buildings are more and more heated using waste heat from unexpected sources; from the hustle and bustle of the London Underground to the depths of disused mine water. But which public facility in Worcestershire stays warm thanks to heat from an unusual source – dead bodies? Now, before you get too spooked – no, dead bodies aren't being burned just to heat this place! Instead, it’s the heat generated during cremations that gets captured and repurposed to warm the facility, turning an unconventional byproduct into a smart energy solution. #Halloween #EnergyEfficiency #SpookySeason #WasteHeat #PubQuiz

Has your resident been confused by high consumption stats on their bills or customer portal? Here’s a step-by-step guide to help them take control and find solutions: 1. Compare to average consumption Encourage them to look at their current energy use compared to the average, in the image and available on our website. If consumption is noticeably higher, this could indicate something’s not right. 2. Reduce energy consumption Residents can take a few simple steps to reduce their energy consumption. Turning down the heating by just 1°C can save up to 10% on bills, and using a more efficient showerhead can also help. Please be mindful that not all energy saving tips are appropriate for all residents. 3. Request a consumption report to identify trends On request, we can provide a detailed usage report based on automatic meter reads. This allows residents to compare their energy use over time, helping them understand whether seasonal changes, household additions, medical needs, or other factors may be affecting consumption. 4. Arrange for a system service If the cause of high usage isn’t clear, it may be time for your resident to contact you or the heat network manager to arrange a service. Regular maintenance of the heat-interface unit (HIU), heat meter, and heating system can help uncover any hidden issues and improve efficiency. 5. Explore financial support options For those struggling with bills, there are several avenues of support. Residents can set up a payment plan through ‘my insite,’ contact their heat supplier, visit StepChange for advice, or check eligibility for government benefits. We’re here to support both you and your residents in managing energy effectively. If you need help with consumption reports or have any questions, feel free to reach out! #EnergyEfficiency #ResidentSupport #ConsumptionReports #PropertyManagement #CustomerCare #EnergyManagement
