We had a chat with the West Midlands Combined Authority about the role of heat networks in the West Midlands. We are currently in the early stages of developing two heat networks in the region. Check out their blog post! 👉 https://lnkd.in/eUZExCA5 #opinion #heatnetworks #districtheating #westmidlands #netzero #lowcarbon #energy #decarbonisation #togethertozero
🤔 What are heat networks, how do they contribute to cleaner heating and how can they play a fundamental role in the West Midlands’ transition to Net Zero by 2041? 🏘️ Ahead of this year's eagerly anticipated Regional Energy Conference, event sponsors Hemiko tell us everything we need to know about heat networks and how they can unlock opportunities for the region. We are putting local social value and growth at the core of what we do. Heat networks create significant opportunity to create local jobs and opportunities for local business. So far, for our Worthing Heat Network, we have hired 11 local people and created 9 paid opportunities for local business, just a month into construction. We have launched the Heat Network Exchange! It is free to use and post. The Heat Network Exchange was originally launched during the Coronavirus pandemic to connect suppliers with buyers, to meet urgent needs for help. It has now been re-purposed to be a single place to find the main suppliers and opportunities in the market. It has two key areas: 📲 The Supplier Directory is an open directory to bring all heat network services together in one handy place, increase cooperation, and unlock new opportunities across the sector. 📋 The Noticeboard offers businesses the opportunity to post a request for services, equipment, collaboration, or innovation. Businesses who have signed up for alerts will automatically receive these requests to their inbox.
