Congratulations to the North team for successfully completing their 24-hour fundraising treadmill challenge last Friday! 🎉 The team has so far raised an amazing £910.00 for East Lancashire Hospice, in memory of their beloved colleague, David Carney, who passed away last year. 🗨 Elizabeth, who co-ordinated the fundraiser, commented: “Over the course of 24-hours, the entire office came together and contributed to the challenge, walking a total of 92km and an incredible 129,976 steps, each one with David in our thoughts. This Friday, our team in the North will be taking on a challenging but heartfelt fundraiser to honour the memory of beloved colleague, David Carney, who sadly passed away last year. David’s kindness, compassion, and dedication to helping others continues to inspire his colleagues and, in his honour, the team will be taking on a 24-hour treadmill walk to raise funds for East Lancashire Hospice. The hospice provides essential palliative care and support to individuals and their families during difficult times, including David and his family last year. They offer comfort, compassion, and dignity to those in need, embodying the values David cherished. A softener is a water treatment system that is designed to alter certain minerals, namely carbonates and hydrogen carbonates of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg), that are found in hard water. Incoming mains water is fed through a resin bed which replaces the Ca and Mg from the carbonates and hydrogen carbonates with sodium – the sodium versions of these minerals remain soluble in the water and don’t deposit as scale. When the resin becomes saturated with Ca and Mg, the system automatically regenerates by flushing itself with brine. This removes the Ca and Mg and recharges the resin with sodium. At the end of the process, softened water is transported to the cold-water distribution system. Softened water reduces the risk of damage and inefficiency caused by the build-up of scale deposits in your water system. Would you like to discuss how a softener might benefit you? Well done to Jonathan, who recently completed a 12-hour charity golf day to raise funds for the Mr Motivator Charitable Trust. ⛳ Jonathan teed off at 6:40am. After completing the first two rounds he had a well-deserved break before resuming the final two rounds and completing hole 72 at 18:45pm. The event raised a fantastic £475.00 which will help fund warm, clean and comfortable beds for families experiencing bed poverty. 🗨 Jonathan commented: “It was very long day, but it all went smoothly and was worth it.
