  • When a business goes from proof of concept to established leader with global impact in just a few short years, its brand and website needs to keep pace. So, when US-based conservation finance organisation Blue Forest faced this challenge, they called on J&G to uncover their point of difference and tell it through a new core narrative, tone of voice and optimised web copy. Our recommendations are always based on insight and, with client workshops, competitor analysis, desk research and interviews with key partners, this process was rigorous. Blue Forest’s purpose - to help restore the world’s eco-systems - has never been more important, so we needed to bring that urgency through and create a mission-driven narrative that matched the impact of their work. Following our strategic recommendations and key messaging, our fabulous friends at Jory&Co. developed a new visual identity and website for Blue Forest, bringing the brand to life. The result: a strong brand and beautiful website that communicates Blue Forest’s impact and connects more meaningfully with key audiences 🌟 Read the full case study at www.jackandgrace.co.uk

  • As an antidote to the US election dominating the news recently, we were glad to read a bit of cheer and hope from our circular economy client Ramco (UK) Limited They are working to rehome the surplus assets of the UK’s final coal fired power station which ceased operation recently, marking the end of coal power in the UK energy mix. Bravo!

If you've seen some of our recent posts, you probably already know a little bit about some of the (very!) exciting work we've been up to... ...but now here's confirmation 😍 We're collaborating with Uniper to rehome surplus assets (including some extraordinary machines!) from their Ratcliffe power plant near Nottingham, following its closure. Ratcliffe, the UK's last coal-fired power station, had been generating energy for the UK since 1967. But its doors were shut for the final time last month, marking a major milestone in the UK's journey to decarbonisation and net zero. Now, as the plant begins its planned two-year decommissioning process, Ramco's helping Uniper reuse a range of surplus equipment from the vast site, including two mammoth CAT scraper tractors and a Liebherr R966 excavator - some of the first assets identified for reuse - which will soon be available to buy via online auction! • The weather outside feels a bit gloomy, but it is wonderful to be able to shine a spotlight on one of our brilliant clients Leadership Skills Foundation. We all know that applying for a new role can be a thankless task, but when they received a whooping 318 applications for a recent vacancy, they recognised the time and effort spent on those applications and sent personalised feedback to Every. Single. Applicant. What a demonstration of their mission of skills development... and good luck to the short-listed interviewees!

Tomorrow we are interviewing for our new Head of Programme Delivery role. We had 600+ individuals express an interest and 318 candidates apply. Getting down to the final six is a massive achievement in itself but we only have one role. So we are destined to disappoint 317 talented individuals. That is why I am most proud that every single one of those candidates receives personalised feedback on their skills to help them continue their future journey even if it is not with us. It's not just about how you treat the individual who is successful, it's also about respecting all of those that invested time and effort and showed an interest in joining Leadership Skills Foundation. Hence when we receive this feedback, all the effort feels justified: "Thank you for letting me know know so quickly. Whilst I am disappointed, I really do appreciate the feedback given. So much time is spent on drafting responses to the questions, it is so valuable to actually get feedback for improvements going forward. I have not received this before and so am particularly pleased. Kudos to your organisation for doing this." Finally, good luck to the final six for tomorrow...the top 2%!

MPs will get a vote on whether the UK should introduce assisted dying - it was last debated by politicians in 2015 (https://lnkd.in/eHSE-_Mi) We were lucky enough to work with Rob Double on the Kill Phil podcast which looks at the issue from all sides, and is both moving and surprisingly funny for a pod about death. When is the right time to die?   Two friends try to answer that question. For one it’s theoretical, and for the other it’s all too real.   In this podcast, we follow Phil’s journey living with an incurable and life-ending illness, and unpack some of the key debates around assisted dying – with some help from experts and campaigners. • We were founded to test some of the accepted norms of business and see what’s possible... ⭐ Is it possible to only work with brands & organisations doing good in the world? (Yep! We think brilliant comms is a superpower that not everyone deserves. We're on the side of brands & organisations doing good in the world.) 🧘♀️ How bendy can you be with flexible work? (Turns out the answer is, very). So much of how we run J&G shouldn’t feel daring or revolutionary, but somehow it does. To anyone hearing lots of "that won't work" - this is your sign to do it anyway. Want to know more about the J&G way? Check out our impact report here: https://lnkd.in/eEHKfE_r

    • Three brightly colours speech bubbles saying "That won't work"; "You're too soft"; "Business is business".
  • At Jack & Grace we’re committed to providing an inclusive and supportive working environment for everyone. In fact, it’s the reason we founded Jack & Grace. As part of this commitment, we want to normalise talking about menopause in the workplace. Or SHOUTING about it if you want to. Which is why our Menopause Policy includes: 💛 Normalising talking about this stuff 🧡 Giving our employees the power and permission to ask for what they need 💜 Flexibility and adjustments to manage work around symptoms 💚 Five paid days off a year, where symptoms are too much to work (in addition to the usual sick leave) 💙 Encouragement to take paid sick leave (judgement free) when you need it #WorldMenopauseDay2024

Loving the commsHERO event in #Leeds today. Three things I’ve learnt this morning (because it’s true, comms people do all think in threes) 1) AI is like an intern. 2) Let’s use failure (or experimentation if that makes you feel better) as a means to succeed. 3) Strategy is just thinking about the future. Thanks Jack & Grace | B Corp Certified for sending me. #commsHERO
